Peter Gual - LIVE [Manuke - Mallorca]
Rian Ryan [Electric City]
Conan O'Donnell [Electric City]

Admission - e7 / e5 members

Kicking things off this week is the young barbarian, Conan O'Donnell -
he rocked the club on his debut performance with a string of sweet
tracks from the Chicago & Detroit underground - all mixed up in a wild
style wizard fashion. Then, the poor chap got stopped by our ex-bouncers
and wasn't let in - so we had to fire them. NO security can stop Conan's
jacking of Electric City.

Don't cross La Cosa Electrica Citia. Following on from him will be the
return of Rian Ryan - one of our favourite DJs - this man rocks doubles,
crosses faders, and matches beats in a furious style ghetto-tech,
rocking electro, mentalist techno and The Prodigy - he fits it all in
with the blink of an eye. Don't blink.

Finishing off the night with a rousing live techno set will be Peter
Gual. Hailing from Mallorca, Peter was keen to express himself musically
from an early age, learning how to play the guitar and beginning to
write his own songs at age 11. Listening to early Sonic Youth, The Cure,
Ramones and a healthy fix of trash metal, Peter formed his own band
named "Anorexia" in high school, which without any great success, still
managed to give him an early taste for playing his music live.

Also influenced by bands such as Depeche Mode and OMD, Peter was always
moved by the feel of electronic music. Using early ¡°Trackers" software
to create and sequence loops, it was this important time in Peter's
teens that saw him hang up his guitar to explore the depths of 4/4
rhythms on his 486DX2 PC, as well as through different drum machines and
synthesizers he would acquire. Moving to London in the late nineties,
Peter was quickly exposed to many flavours of dance music on the club
and party scene, from deep house to trance to various styles of techno.

Upon his move to Ireland in 2000, Peter became focused on the sound he
was looking for. Comparing the energy of techno to that of the bass and
drums of a real live band, he combines industrial and tribal drum
elements to escalating atmospheric sounds, often conveying a dark edge
while retaining an infectious dancability. Laying down somewhere in the
region of 200 completed tracks in the last three years, Peter's hard
work paid off when he signed his first release to Chicago label Cobalt
Recordings last year.

With a succession of standout performances around Dublin, Peter's
intense live sets have become something to be reckoned with. His show
stealing set at DEAF 2004's "Earwig" gig will go down in local techno
folklore, not only as an outstanding display of live techno, but also as
the perfect finish to a memorable gig.

His latest EP on the Pure Plastic affiliated label Manuke, has been
charted and playlisted by many big hitting DJs including Ben Sims and
Mark Williams, as well as picking up numerous glowing reviews in techno
circles around the globe. To keep up to date with latest on Peter Gual,
