Listener involvment, maybe connected to the chat room. On the pirates I played on the ones that used to do shouts and reed txt msg gained the most popularaty, becuase the listeners feel like they are involved. This has also been true of the several net stations I have played for, the ones with no contact with the listener soon fade away.

Playing prerecorded stuff from people to pad stuff out where needed to get interest going would be decent. Either live mixes or Ableton mix type stuff, but I only say that as I've done some natty mixes in Ableton I'd shiver me timbres if they got played online for other people to hear.

Itll be completely automatic. no messing around required. The scheduling software will keep track of who is supposed to be on, and switch them on the second they go live, right up until the show is over.

When a live show is not going on, users will have the ability to make some changes to the playlist as they see fit. During certain parts of the day, everything that plays will be user controllable.

something along the lines of what finke & sims do on the split show.

I dont mean rip them off as such, just have things like guest mixes, new music from members & non members.

not just techno, some breakcore now there is a core forum ;) and no trance. ;)

I think you have to have more than just one style of music, That way you appeal to a wider audience, and keep the radio intresting. Also you get a chance to educate ppl in diffrent styles that they may not normaly listen to, this may mean conveting more ppl to techo

Yeah...

A monthly show featuring a roundup of the best tracks from the Production forums would be quality. Of course, you'd need to get permission, but I guess the transmission bitrate won't be the best!

I like the webcam idea

curly
25-11-2005, 07:24 PM
webcam is a good idea for live pa, but use up a lot of band width, When it's just a dj I feel a webcam can be pointless as you are generaly just watching the same thing, maybe just a snapshot every few mins like radio 1 do.

Yeah, fair point.

Depends what your bandwidth is like I guess.
