Taken from another board...

Theres been a bit of beef and smack talk between these two on discogs. In part of the forum Pacou laid it down and has ask Bones for a mix battle, etc...

http://www.discogs.com/forums/topic?topic_id=81067

I guess the mixes will be up ASAP in the mixes area!

I think a Blackout DJ battle would be a good idea!

hahaha awesome! but where's the actual smacktalk? i only see frankie...where's pacau's challenge?

nice!! mixtape war!

eyeswithoutaface
22-11-2005, 07:32 PM
be cool if it was all in good honour though, its all a bit "my dads bigger than your dad" really isnt it, whilst fun to read these are the guys who should be ultimately setting the example ... interested to hear Frankie's mix of course though

Martin Dust
22-11-2005, 08:04 PM
Why should they be setting an example? Wasn't aware we or anyone had a moral obligation...

eyeswithoutaface
22-11-2005, 08:24 PM
probably should of put imo there, my point was really that techno's got a shitty enough image without slanging matches from some of the most significant, again imo, contributors. The whole mix battle thing is great, of course, but the slanging behind it is a bit childish i reckon, i maybe a pedantic cunt but one thing i avoid is public slanging matches, be it on forum or otherwise, as people just look like twats anyway arguing for all to see

:rambo: ;)

Martin Dust
22-11-2005, 08:31 PM
Shitty image eh, depends on the eyes I guess, I've never worried about what others think, so what if they have a ruckus, lighten up, 99.999999r don't actually care...

eyeswithoutaface
22-11-2005, 08:37 PM
anyone who knows me in real life i.e outside of this board knows i dont give a toss what anyone thinks about me as a person, there's many who'd vouch for that certainly.... that wasnt really the point, put it this way people go on about wanting to attract the attention of new people to techno, well when people do get into it they see artists bickering with each other, arguing on the internet and actual physical violence due to shit thats happened on message boards... thats just OTT and usually stems from crap like that on discogs

just my view of course

Martin Dust
22-11-2005, 08:41 PM
I disagree, must club nights full of people and new people getting into the music isn't made up of people who hang out on internet boards, so I doubt no one will care or see it outside of say 1000 people world-wide...

audioinjection
22-11-2005, 08:45 PM
so are these mixes up yet?

eyeswithoutaface
22-11-2005, 08:53 PM
well thats assuming most people getting into new music online are doing it soley via forums, i know alot of people who wouldnt waste their time with boards but spend hours on mp3 sites looking up artists they are getting into and researching related artists, labels etc etc... so i dunno, just depends how you see things as you said... i know id struggle to sell 1000 units of my records so until then il be keepin it in mind

eyeswithoutaface
22-11-2005, 08:54 PM
not sure about the mixes, would be interesting definately... whose going to judge it tho? haha

Martin Dust
22-11-2005, 08:58 PM
Trust me, they don't give a **** - forums just reflect a very small part and it's not even worth using as a measure of anything...

eyeswithoutaface
22-11-2005, 09:00 PM
believe me im not disagreeing with you, i know just how full of shit most forums are, including this one at times definately, i just thought that it was a bit childish literaly, nothing wrong with that! ;)

Frankie Bones vs. Pacou would be a beat down in person, never forgot what Frankie's brother did to Hawtin at Tronic ahahahahahahahahaha

what was that then

djshiva
23-11-2005, 05:04 PM
i personally think we should just break out a ruler and settle this idiocy once and for all...

eyeswithoutaface
23-11-2005, 07:01 PM
you've said that before Shiva, and to be honest i dont really think its an ego thing here. Pacou said some shit about Frankie, for no reason too apparently, and this was Frankie's way of replying. i still think its a bit childish but hey if people want to do this kind of thing then ultimately, as ive had it pointed out to me, who are we to stop them?

for the record Pacou isnt a very nice persona at all, some friends of mine booked him for a gig here in Liverpool and he was by all accounts a very nasty and obnoxious character, making numerous uneccesary comments about the house in which my friends live (for what reason they will never know, or be arsed about really), about the club itself and about the various conditions of this travel such as flight and transfers. By all accounts not a very nice little german man at all

anyone know if they've put mixes up yet?

eyeswithoutaface
23-11-2005, 07:10 PM
that's not a dig too i must add im just saying

ampassasinbirmingham
23-11-2005, 07:10 PM
not a very nice little german man at all----- quality:):):):):)

Thats how i got into a fight recently. I said to some bloke- "Exuse me kind sir, but i think your behaviour is highly inappropriate in an establishment such as this". He consiquetily told me to **** off. Ahh well, gentlemanly conduct is the way foreward.

Next time i c u scotty we will have to don a twead jacket and have some port and a pipe together:):):)

ohh and alos- Pacou is really not a very nice little german toad.

eyeswithoutaface

Anyone found the mixes yet?

eyeswithoutaface
24-11-2005, 09:02 AM
ive not heard them but a mate of mine heard Frankie's and said it was just an average mix really, and get this, apparently Frankie votes on his own mix, Pacou the same, and Pacou has already declared himself winner, as you do, because he plays more tracks!

hilarious

So whos mix is best? Pac's mix is more my style.

Conan
25-11-2005, 01:43 PM
Just listened to Pacou's .... the tunes are good, there is a good flow to the mix and enough variety in the tunes but the mixing isn't good at all. This guy was a resident at TRESOR for fuk sake and he dj's around the world, IMO he should be better than that.

i havent listened to Frankie's yet.

Conan
25-11-2005, 02:24 PM
I just listened to Frankie's there. His tunes wouldnt be my style but his mixing is very very good and is that of a pro. I think pacou lost this battle big time.

Its not just the tunes that count, Frankies arent bad there are some good tunes and that is his style but his mixing is top. Pacou's tunes are better in places but he's way too sloppy and not as good.

FRankie Bones Wins.IMO

25-11-2005, 02:37 PM
listened to frankies mix...

weak mixing.....most of it is clean but for he aint pushing no boundarys.

for someone claiming the shit he is "25yrs mixin " etc it is poor...not worth a battle anyway...

DrewDavid
25-11-2005, 04:47 PM
Didn't seem to be a clear-cut winner to me... Frankie's set was better mixed, but Pacou played about 10 more tracks in less time and had—in my opinion —better tunes.

Despite all the posturing, neither mix blew me away. This battle ended up as a lot of talk and not much rock.
