Electric Shock part 2 is primed and ready to crumble the walls of the Temple Bar Music Centre on Saturday February 4th. This is another monster monster line-up featuring two of the most popular guests from the annals of Electric City guests. Flying in from Florence is the mythical Alexander Robotnick, the sight of the 50+ year old Italo Disco legend singing, playing keyboards and laptop DJing is without a doubt one of our favourite since Electric City opened it's doors. Joining him on the night will be Berlin femme fatale, Ms. Ellen Allien – this renaissance woman of electronic music is the BPitch Control label-owner, producer and DJ extraordinaire. Both of these artists have made several appearances at Electric City in both the Metropolitan and Traffic and we thought they would be a great complement to each other over the course of one special night. Flying the Dublin flag will be Electric City regular Barry 'Vanilla' Donovan fresh from sampling the cultural delights that South America has to offer. He made his return safely, without recourse to FARC rebels and it will be a pleasure to have him kick start the night's entertainment.

Ellen played an absolutely storming set at our first birthday party back in March 2004 and then came back to headline in September 2005. We've been hounded to get this Berlin beauty back behind the turntables at Electric City so here's the perfect opportunity to hear her rock our second Electric Shock night. From it's first release in 2000, BPitch Control has been one of the most consistently varied labels around with artists such as Heiko Laux, Tok Tok, Housemeister, Johannes Heil, Smash TV, Kiki (& Silversurfer), Sasha Funke and Ellen all releasing killer albums and 12's over the past four years at a ferocious rate of 25 a year. Ellen herself has recorded two albums and one remix compilation alongside several 12"'s. Her DJ'ing skills are truly as varied and as exemplary with her Weiss.mix featuring tracks seamlessly mixed from people such as Akufen, Andrea Parker, Phonecia, Superpitcher and Squarepusher. With a cracking Mix CD 'My Parade' featuring Plaid, Midi Rain, Step Time Orchestra this will be an ideal chance to hear her skills in the flesh.

Since he first played to a small crowd in the Metropolitan back in 2003, Alexander Robotnick has become almost an institution in Dublin clubbing. Following those small acorns of the opening night, word spread like wildfire about this Italo-Disco legend. Alongside laying live keys over tracks and playing sets exclusively made up of his own edits of tracks, he also gets on the microphone for renditions of his own italo classics. When DJing, he plays a floor-shaking selection of tracks from the likes of John Foxx, Visage, Casco, The Hacker, New Order, Bangkok Impact, Yello and many more. We can't wait to have the man back to rock the Electric Shock party.

First up on the night will be Barrio Donovano, a member of the Lunar Disko crew that brought over Bangkok Impact last year, Barry is a regular at Electric City and has already played alongside the likes of Blake Baxter and Dave Clarke. This will be a top quality night of great music from all artists on the bill. Tickets for this event are on sale now priced e20 from Selectah Records and www.tickets.ie.
