Does anybody know if it is possible to replace the pitch fader for the technic mark 2 with a pitch fader from later version (Mk 3+), so as to avoid the dimple in the middle next to the 0% pitch mark.

any help desperately needed

Cheers

not sure, but i'd imagine you'd have issues with the lack of quartz lock, seeings as this is controlled via a button on post mk2 variants, and there is obviously no such button on a mk2

You can actually get rid of the spring inside the pitch fader if you open it up.

The spring is responsible for the click/dimple in the middle.

i hate the spring removal thingie. and yes i did it!

i'd get the 'new faders' . shouldn't be a problem.

Lookin at the guys on that forum, there seems to be some apprehension about taking this spring out. Does anyone else think it'd be a daft thing to do?

On one hand I think i'd have a bash at this but on the other i dont use the pitch @ 0% much anyway!!

anyone have any thoughts on this?

cheers ;)

Go for it.

Fiddling with electrical / mechanical stuff always gets people in a tizz, but its never quite as scary as people believe.

removing the spring is well worth it u can also snip the orange wire i think i is to remove the 0 reset and give the fader continius pitch so u dont get ptoblems when u mixing around the centre point

i really wouldn't recommend doing it. it would work perfectly if one could rather seal the little hole the ball locks into. i think the ball is rather important for the feel of the fader... i'd deffo try one of the new faders. i did this shit on three decks and re-did two decks (mine) with new faders - couldn't stand the way the faders behaved when modded. maybe that's just me, though

in the 1210 it's easy to make the pitch do a bigger range. yet i wouldn't do i! i will try and hook you up with the service manual, though :)
