I like acid but found this lacking in variety after a while.
needs more than a 909 and 303 too keep my interest for more than 10 mins.
Although you do have that classic sound down well.

hi steve...hows it going??

...theres 808s and 707s too! lol

na seriously.....i am doing techno too...my set is 50/50 acid and techno...just the acid half here though!
i think you have to take the set as a whole though...bearing in mind i was playing to an acid crowd
and to me acid is quite subtly repeditive and formulaic....thats what trances you out...got some new kit coming soon
so my sound will be greatly enhanced...im gonna go more hardware...sequencer and all
just ordered 2 akai mpc 2000s and a 909 drum machine and a new soundcraft mixer
was thinking of getting a laptop...but not sure which one is best for the job
any ideas with a 1000 budget?

you can get loads for a grand. any good lappy of 2 gig or more will do ya, and a nice soundcard.
Mpc2000 is just a bunch of processors so you might as well get 2 laptops.
Problem with all that hardware is you cut your chances of gigs abroad, cos the promoters can`t afford to pay for all the extra baggage.
You ordered a 909
Why?
they suck
loads of money for about 8 sounds that have been raped.
Go for an airbase or something.
