When they come to write the book on Electric City [Eamo, you have our
number] Deetron's set back in April 2004 will be on the page titled 'the
best EC sets ever' it was that good. That night he blended, chopped, mixed
and crushed his way through tracks from Detroit, Chicago and Berlin like
there was no tomorrow. Even Gordon Ramsey would have been proud of him. His
flawless set was described as "Jeff Mills without the mistakes". These
amazing skills have seen Deetron travel the world playing some of techno's
biggest clubs and festival such as The Rex (Paris), Zouk (Singapore),
Ultraschall (Munich), La Real (Oviedo), Fuse (Brussels), Tresor (Berlin), I
Love Techno (Gent) to name a few.
Not only is he one of the best DJ's we have ever witnessed, Deetron has
racked up some amazing releases through the years on Music Man, Phont,
Ongaku, Rotation, Intec and hard rocking remixes for the artists as diverse
as Gary Martin, Ennio Morricone, Smith & Selway, Victor Simonelli and many
more. His 'In The Mix' CD release on Music Man was one of the most popular
mixes released on that label and featured tracks from Ron Trent, Carl Craig,
Oliver Ho, Robert Hood, Kevin Saunderson, Mark Broom and Octave 1.
There were times during his last set where he looked a little bored using
just the two decks that the luxurious Metropolitan DJ booth used to barely
hold, so this time we promised him a third deck and some CDJ's to help
overcome any possible boredom he might occur.
Support comes from one of Dublin's freshest new DJ's Conan O'Donnell, who
we are sure we'll give Deetron a run for his [and our] money when they play
both Electric City this Thursday.
