i know this has come up before, but i still cant remedy it. HELP!!
i recently changed over from purely software to a hybrid, and i was told that ableton was the best platform to use. so i have everything hooked up. heres how it looks:
soundcard esi esp1010 with the ESX going in to the 1 and 2 inputs.
midi out from the 1010 (midi channel 2) to the in on the sx1and vice versa
the asio driver selected in ableton and 'ext' selected.
im getting the audio, and the midi trigger seems to be working (ie; when i play the sx1, ableton plays), although when i fiddle with stuff sometimes the trigger stops or goes on its own bpm route.
so i have a single kick on the SX and a sharp Hi hat playing from a midi channell in ableton. ive tried the latency compensation lark, but when i set the delay, there is no audible difference. sometimes the audio seems like its synced just not tweaked properly, other times it plays all over the place out of sync, thus reassuring me that im thick and dont know what im doing!! :)
