sorry mate i think uberdruck isn't as good as he once was. Kamui and Dave 202 and Slideout are indeed good mentions. I still think Luca Antolini is underrated.

Im just listening to techno(all forms) and old skool trance as there isnt alot of stuff out there and hasnt been for a very long time.

I still have thousands of records from years ago and i stopped buying them in about 2003 as nothing really appeals to me anymore.

Sad really cos when its good its fekking good

slideout is my fav producer at the mo!! his stuff is fresh and has a dark german edge to it !!

uberdruck have produced some wicked stuff in the past but i aint liked the last few or so realises

there is a new tune on anthem that has come out that is really good - hypercore 303 - jupiter

to be honest their aint alot...........

there has been a few dave joy remixes about that are ok also

i would love to hear some more ben eye and log tunes being put on vinyl to be honest!!!

Vandalls been making some fantastic hard trance, JTB's on fire at the mo, Kamuis done some awesome tracks and remixes, Louk's Future Vision tracks wicked ( with an awesome xpander mix too) Ultraform is also making some wicked tracks.

theres a lot of wicked hard trance doing that rounds at the mo imo, just not all of it is available easily at the moment, but if we continue to see these producers making such good quality tracks it can only be good for hard trance this year :)

I agree there is a lot of great hardtrance around atm

Jon The Baptist - Sunrise
Future Vision - Your Love
Karlzee - Double Penetrator
Invader + Vandall - Eye Of The Storm

among others Ultraform, Mauguzun, and Xpander.

Ive gotta admit though there isnt a lot of the darker stuff coming out which were trying to do, for example with Severe Trauma.

I couldnt disagree more with most really, hard trance hasnt flicked my bean for a while, the new kamui one traffic was pretty cool and bejamin R on druck i liked (nice techy tinged trance for me)...

Straight on Black rarely releases something i dont like, Tocs 1 was a monster....

but i dont really know how the scene can be thriving or healthy when good tracks are coming from a handful of producers with half of them being unsigned?

Its funkin unreal that Fabian hasnt been signed yet, he is generally putting out more forward thinkin and banging hard trance than half the scene put together imo. Xpanders rmx of Louks tune was pretty damn phat aswell...

all in all its a well poor effort imo.

I agree with what your saying about people being unsigned, but my point was that ive not had nothing to be excited about with hardtrance for a while and now there is something for me to get excited about, only a matter of time befor peopel are signed and hard trance is back on the top imo.

it depends how you truly look at it:

it's not necessarily about what the VINYL scene is doing to generally say what it is like as a whole.

what is a scene? it's what YOU have surrounded yourself with..

each person has a different outlook and analyses (based on their taste) how they think the scene is progressing..

it is a shame how people like fabian struggle to get a release..

but i still think that he gets enough coverage the way he distributes his tracks.. he gets praised by a charade of popular and well known dj's.. isn't that technically the same as getting a release?

look at it like this, a vinyl release only sells between 1000 to 5000? records

you send your tune to 100 people over msn and put it up for download, the same amount of people will get this tune. maybe not the vinyl buying dj who doesnt know about the net scene yet, but still a lot of people in a different scene.. ;)

it's all about coverage, how you go about it..

cos i know jon it's easy to use him as an example..

he had the same degree of talent for the same amount of time as fabian has now and it took a while to get a release.. it's taken him 7 or 8 years to get where he has, but he's stuck with it through thick and thin, and slowly but surely it is paying off..

but compare jon to mark.. or scot project or paul van dyke!!

it takes YEARS to get where you want, and with technology moving so quickly, it takes new and different ways to get to the forefront of the scene..

at the end of the day, as much as we love vinyl, it will die.. but hopefully not!!

the moral of this story is stick with what you love doing, try and push your own boundaries and don't worry too much about what the scene is doing and push yourself!

Each to there own i guess, for me personally tho.... its class to see Ultraform, Maugauzan (spelling), Xpander and vandall tunes soundin phat from the nu breed.... jon and log (whose toons are wicked, but never hear enough). When i compare it to the other styles i dig mainly.. ie trance and tekno the amount of productions coming out that i like is small in comparison. I still love hard trance, just dont find anywhere near enough these days. I will still buy tracks that excite me but im also finding that ur average tech trance track is now just as hard (Montana - Platinum being an example). Where has hard trance really gone in the last couple of years?

Its just how i feel at the minute. :-s

love you nisbet you're still negative as **** :)

for me hard trance is rocking, so is the techy stuff, a recent conversation with dj abyss heralded a few truths which made me realise that maybe some people should be a bit more open minded with where they look and waht tunes they listen to rather than just liking the same few producers and not paying much attention

Vandall is truly taking things forward, also I rate wragg + log ones tune and mic-e's remix of jones + stepphenson first rebirth

that new stealth is fukin lush too

But I think they're is a lot of good hardtrance out there but do find a lot of hardtrance lately is really uplifting.

I'm gonna be forced big up my bredrin/mate Vandall and chip in that he's been making some classy tuneage just lately (been working really hard bless him)

The new track is out now 'Hypnotisin' with Original Mix and a proper banging remix from Jon The Baptist & McBunn which I'd recommend checking out... also TWZ001 has just been restocked and both are available at www.germantrance.com. Future releases will be revealed soon enough but they include some top tunes and remixes :eyes:

Enough pimping the whores.

Can't really be arsed to mention who I rate cos most of them's already been mentioned now and rightly so, but one thing to say, Slideout's kick drums make me shit my pants yo

Hard Trance wise, I honestly think theres more choice than ever, But I agree with most and say the quality isnt half as good. The hard Uplifting sound that Im in 2 is doin OK, Jon the Baptist, Vandall, Alphazone...have all been on top form the alast year, and 4 the darker edeged crew Slideout and Uberdruck have also been on form. I just think the sound of yester yer-Krammer, Old Scot Project, Flutlich-SOKK etc.. didnt quite have the life span _for various reasons) it could of had.

Sorry to drag up an old post but I just read this and I thought there was a lot of good points!!!!!!

Personally, I haven't really had that much time for the Hard Trance Scene over the last few years. None of the music I hear seems to move me in the same way that Hard Trance did back in the nineties, the sort of stuff M-Zone and Mark EG were bangin' out!!!!!!!

But, I still think theres plenty good DJ's and Producers in the Trance scene these days. I still love John 00 Fleming's sets, still really up front and underground. I just bought this tune today that he was blasting out at the end of last year, Kox Box - Side Effects, f**kin' banging tune!!!!!!

Just a shame that so many of the tunes these days just seem to lack the freshness and originality of tunes from a good few years back!!!!!!

for me, theres no other dance music that comes close!

@ the mo, im loving:

most beppe barilli's stuff on gas (including take control which would be infinitely better without the awful vocal!)
robbie & nogera ~ daimoku
ado the dream ~ roll of bass
andrea montorsi ~ black door
anything by sa.vee.oh
walt ~ let the music play

and all time favourite:

prestige ~ unstable

as well as the obvious classics:

shokk remix of first impression
scot project remix of listen to me mama
mass in orbit ~ power is in ur mind
hennes & cold ~ get down

just wish there were some decent hard trance nights nearer me! went to oxford last month to see hennes & cold & derb but only cold aka derb turned up so had to endure loads of gabba & other rubbish before he came on & dropped 2nd trip :o) even managed to blag his copy on vinyl which he signed! result :o)

I was shocked and disturbed when I saw the first message on this thread - especially coming from Mr EG .................... but then I saw the date he wrote it and it made much more sense!

Hard Trance went through a proper shit period in about 2005/2006 but things have improved vastly in the last year. I would like to think that our label Intolerance Recordings has played a small part in that. We've also had the emergance of Vandall and hard trance in general is pretty awesome at the moment - especially when you consider where it was say 18 months ago.

Lets hope it comes back to the forefront where it belongs - but we really need the top DJ's to keep playing the best stuff out there so I hope the likes of Mr EG stick to their roots and don't go too far down the hardstyle route. It's difficult to see where hardstyle can go, but hard trance will never die!

Nice post man, i see where your coming from. Yea i agree its on the up. Personally i have been liking the techy side to Hard Trance, a good example of this is Kamui's sound.

For me it will never get back to the days of 2000 to early 2004. (Hennes & Cold, S.H.O.K.K, Flutlicht, Kramer & Pogadl ETC ETC) And i dont want to sound negative there but that was my fav sound of Hard Trance, and obviously it is changing all the time. But on a more positive note i agree with you in that it is improving and coming back to its roots. I feel Hardstyle is to blame for Hard Trances' decline A year - 2 years ago. Imo' alot of artists where trying to achieve this Hardstyle sound or 'Hardbass' sound into Hard Trance. And this is not what Hard Trance is about!!

Agree with what you say entirely - hard trance was awesome back in the day but people can forget that it's perhaps just as awesome now because they have moved on to different styles.

And tech-trance is certailny very popular and increasingly so. With people like Scot Project, Kamui and now Vandall producing tech-trance and more and more DJ's like Kutski promoting and playing it, it's getting very popular. People like myself - and JTB and Chuck-E will never let our love for hard trance guide us in any other direction tho!

like i said above FJ Project, also Chris + Matt Kidd, Yoji Biomehanika, Bas + Ram, Scot Project, Kamui, Vandall, Sa.Vee.Oh, Tommy Pulse, Walt, Slideout, Cool Grey/Darksucker (Anthem), Synthetic, Dave Joy, Baptist, Nick The Kid of course, to name just a few

I'm even doing a few bits as well that are harder but with a more techy sound - should check all the above out the scene is starting to burst with lots of fresh material again.

wow yeah i wrote that first post quite some time ago hehehe.

i think there's loads out there at the minute. yeah tech-trance is getting quite popular, but then again, when something is popular i tend to force myself to look more in other areas. i think there's some clever hardstyle out there but it's always the hard trance side of it all that works the best. yeah lots of great music at the moment, it's quite an exciting period if you ask me

I Love Hard T with a passion.
But...
I am disappointed with the amount of similar stuff out there. Certain producers(you know who you are) simply tag someone else's style of work, and feed off their next release (make the exact same bassline with a different hook, or vocal).
Or...
They simply churn tune after tune, with identical structures, snare routines, riffs, and melodies. True, there used to be a much larger variety of styles and tunes, but it seems noeone wants to dare to make something different, unless either someone else does it first (and succeeds), or their name is Scot Project, Kamui, Slideout, or Jon The Baptist.

WE NEED PROGRESSION!

If everyone just started mixing other genres of music, because theres better tunes available (alot of the time there is), sooner or later Hard Trance will be extinct...sniff sniff. ahem.

heres a few that im loving at the moment: Hard AND Trancey

Cloudchaser --- Trancebreak Waterworld Digital
Ralph Novell --- Back (the scientist rmx) Priviledged Recordings
Nish --- Blue Sunshine (original mix) DOOFDOOF Trax
Marcel Woods --- Advanced (DJ Scot Project rmx)
