It's June the 3rd, it's our Third Anniversary this year and to keep our
astrologist happy we're pushing on with Electric Shock #3. We've got one
of our Electric City special guests returning when Dr. Lektroluv goes
undercover as Double Agent Electro with the Irish launch of his latest
(7th) compilation. The Man in the Mask has put a smile on the face of
Electric Citizens twice over the past couple of years and this will be a
great chance to see him on the big stage. This mysterious named Doctor
will remain masked throughout his set as he gives you a taste of his own
electro medicine. The good doctor's illuminous green skin and mad boffin
attire means he comes across as a muted, futuristic version of cult 80's
TV star Max Headroom. But don't let that put you off because behind the
mask is one of electro's leading DJ's

To finish the night we are pleased to present the debut Irish Live set
by one of the most ingenious techno producers of the last decade. We're
talking about Johannes Heil who has been making techno history since
1998 and produced six albums and countless EPs on Kobayashi, Kanzleramt,
as well as his own J.H. Records label and many others. Back then hard
techno was the sound of the time, and his first album 'Reality To Midi'
featuring the techno classic 'Paranoid Dancer' proved his unusual talent
for simple rough tracks that soon heralded the sound of a new techno
generation with their bass line and unique way of dealing with fragments
of melodies as well as filtered vocals. His bow to Detroit and Chicago
is never retro or old-school, but always aimed at the core of the track
and its maximum club effect. Co-productions with DJ Hell or Sven Väth
followed. His last albums, such as 'Heilstyle' '20.000 Leagues Under The
Skins' and 'The World' on Anthony Rother's Datapunk label matched the
production standard, but were more introverted and more interested in
mystical or mythical connections than taking techno to another level -
as was Johannes Heil himself at the time. What makes this even more
gratifying is that Johannes Heil has used his new album, Freaks R Us, to
not only reinvent himself but also his music. At long last, he's back to
the future of techno. For more info on his new album check out

Support comes from Electric City regular Barry Donovan who played such
a great set at our last Electric Shock party that we just had to get him
back again. Tickets for this night are currently available at the
knockout price of 20 euro from Selectah Records and www.tickets.ie. We
advise that you pick a ticket to avoid queuing on the night.
