and somehow this shit northern sport is the 2nd most watched sport on sky, unfortunately still behind the lamest game of all... the overpriced, underskilled, nancy boys yawnfest of a game that is losing 1000s fans every month...

rugby league is far more entertaining than football will ever be...

played by real men (relatively speaking) who do not fake injuries and get others sent off... they stay on their feet and work for 80 minutes...

football has turned into a pathetic sport..

union is sluggish and is like one constant scrum going nowhere...

it amazes me how people actually like it, but then i respect your choice to like it of course ;)

st helens vs leeds rhinos over any union game!!!!

union sucks.

there really is no comparision between the 2 games. union is what gives the breakaway and improved upon code of rugby (league) a bad name.

union is the public schoolboy's game of choice hence the overwhelming media bias. the bbc despite house of commons petitions will not show the super league show nationally on a sunday yet the union show is shown nationally even with little or no interest in the game past coventry.... in the only other country where the 2 games are played at a very high level, australia, rugby league is the national sport and televised to millions every week whereas union is behind aussie rules, cricket and only just infront of football. the aussies know a good game when they see it. ;)

british union internationals are sold out purely on the back of corporate sponsorship and free tickets, hardly anyone goes to actually watch the game (cos it's dull) it's all about socialising.

the skills in union are appalling, forward passes, knock ons, poor in field kicking etc and the biggest union hero jonny wilkinson is famous for kicking a friggin drop goal in a cup final. he's barely played a match since....

union payed £1million for rugby league's ageing gb captain when he was injured and close to retirement, he still hasn't played a single game . this guy was meant to be the saviour of england ru. the previous england captain jason robinson was a decent rugby league winger in his day....

england ru trained with leeds rhinos rugby league team to learn how to pass and defend properly.

in a game of union the ball is in play for aprox 25 minutes out of the 80 minutes played. in league it's more than double this...

....and don't get me started on football :cheese:

Do they not all wear shoulder pads in league????

I only thought women wore those, oh and those in that shit sport called american football

How come a lot of good League players now swap codes to Union?

To be fair I like both codes although being from Gloucester and a big Glos fan prefere Union.

Union is far from Boring, the Ireland Vs England game recently which Ireland just won was a great exciting game. Made me laugh when the Irish hooker lamped the English Hooker in the Jaw and the ref just called it 'Hand bags' if that was footballer (except Duncan Ferguson) they would of been rolling around on the floor for hours.

no argument re american football.

have you ever watched league????
*some* players started to wear pads due to the intensity of the collisions and the amount of injuries that happened as the game got harder over the last 20 years. they're not playing tiddly winks out there.

football players wear shin pads and still go down like a sack o' sh1t if someone even taps them, rolling about in tears like the pussies they are.

rent this from your video shop then come back and say the same...

more importantly how come hardly any union players come to league? we don't want them that's why

british union is struggling and the skill levels are very poor so they pay alot of money for ageing rugby league stars to go teach them how it's done. the england ru defensive coach is an ex league star.
the future england captain is a clapped out ex league star and the last england captain was a league star....

Hey mate, I'm not gonna knock Rugby league cuz I enjoy watching it also yes the handling skill is better but it it totally different styles.

I like the Union players tackle though - hard and low.

We could argue which code is better all day, the people from the North are always going to say league and people from the south Union.

aye fair enough, but most people in the south are starved of rl on
tv so they'll always go for what the media tells them...
