A 808/909 is too expensive and the only thing I would want them for is the mainly the kick drums.

Anyone used the analogue JoMox MBase01 kick drum module?

Would it sound as fat as the 909/808 kick drums?

i think the mbase is supposed to be the same as the kick drum in the airbase and xbase. i have the airbase, and i really like it.

the jomox can make loads of bass but usually needs help in the top end (from samples). it's very warm and fat. too fat sometimes, requiring lots of eq and compression to make it sit in the mix properly.

hrm. i just read the jomox page about it and it says that even though the parameters are the same as the airbase, the sound is different. so take what i said above with a grain of salt. it probably sounds as good, but i'm not sure just how different it actually is...

it very very probably is even fatter than the original 909/808 kickdrums. the person behind them did mods on the 909 (808 dunno) before he made the jomox xbase 09. i have the xbase and the kickdrums are hella fat. really fat. and more tweakable on the machine itself.
