Look I know Dirk and David visit this forum on occasion (why do they never post!!???????!!!!!!!! hahahahaaha). They obviously care what we all think though or they wouldn't be here.

So I thought it would be nice for each of us to make a list.

I know we all respect these artists like crazy, I know I do. They are, over the last few yrs, the best German hard trance producers as far as I'm concerned (I'm entitled to my own opinion).

So shut your eyes, remember your favourtie tunes, and answer these two questions:

a) What we've like about their music in the past
b) What we've not liked about their music in the past
c) How we'd like to see it go in the future.

a - THE GOOD) What I loved about early Uberdruck tunes was the 'attitude' attached to them. I loved the sheer craziness about them. Oh my god how good was the chainsaw tune? I loved their production more than anything though - everything sounds so rounded. And the 303. Oh my god.. How good is Uberdruck 303. I really miss this in German hard trance.

b - THE BAD) What gets me about the last 1 yr of Uberdruck is the sequence is ALWAYS the same. ie there's always a time stretched vocal - you know what's going to happen. Mind you, they still work. But there's been the massive danger that things are gonna sound the same. This is the death of artists in the UK. It's why many of us turn our noses up at Scot Project these days (even though his production is amazing!!!).

c - THE FUTURE) If I was Uberdruck I'd keep the production the same as it always has been. I'd just change the sequence. Try to do something different but with that same euphoria.

God I sound such a cunt for saying this. But I'm only trying to help. And after meeting these guys and loving what they stand for, I feel a duty to tell them this and to find out what the true underground of the UK are feeling. I hope everyone else here puts in their 2 cents and gives these two amazing ppl something to think about from a UK persective :)

THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE FUTURE...

let's have your opinions....

The thing I have not been over keen on is the ep situ where you get 2 tracks on one side one on the other

as the side with 2 tracks has been of quite poor quality ??? - esp drugface rmxs (maybe ive just been unlucky and got some poop pressings ?)

would much rather have two seperate vinyls like part 1 part 2 and have them in the usual Uberdruck quality ,I apprieciate its gonna cost me twice to get all 4 mixes (should I like all 4 ) but the fact is , I like the drugface remix's , but never play them out or hardly @ home because the levels are not good even with some serious tweakage its still not the same :?

so for the future 1 side 1 tune would defo get my vote

what I really like about the last couple of releases are the "mini" hardstyle touches, letting you take it either way ,hardstyle or hardtrance its user friendly :D

In my honest opinion I'm not that big of a fan of Uberdruck now, I was in the early days but lost interest when there music began to sound 'samey', but I have soo much respect for them...They have played a massive part in the Hard Trance scene and were probably the first names I ever knew. I bought loads of there older stuff, I was fascinated by the evil 303's and dirty humping basslines...I bought 'The Speed', 'Bloody Slut', 'Higher Level' and their remixes of 'Hallucination Generation' and 'I know ure Waiting'. At the time when I liked theyre sound, I thought the production was immense..every tune gave me a buzz. I wouldnt say that they've died out in any way, I'm sure there f.ucking loads of people out there absolutley loving they're sound at the minute and will continue to buy there releases...If I were to start buying theyre material again they would have to release another tune like 'Radio Star' on Deep Mission, that tune was just soo different than there style for me, Uplifting Uberdruck...you know it was awesome...you know it. I still always check theyre latest releases, every time, because you just can't leave it unheard, you know you could be missing out on something....I'm sure they'll bring out some awesome stuff in the future, I do have my upmost belief that they will...So in the future I want to hear more 'Uplifting Uberdruck'...

Sorry I didnt keep to your format Mark, my hands just started typing and I couldn't stop, nothing like a good thread...

Also on the topic of Uberdruck, I heard they are releasing on Planet Traxx in the future, could this put my wish into action?

Anyone in the know...tell us innit!

My two cents...Corbz 8)

ive always played some of there stuff... not all though as i thought even at the start if u could choose ur own preference too which uberdruck release u bought, then there wasnt much need for any other...

Loved early stuff as it was dirty, nasty and phat....

didnt like some of the remixes on the other sides tho....

the future i think is gonna ave too change as always the uberdruck mix was the main one on the vinyl.... but that ludvigh chap has pulled off a few belters in the last couple of releases with some heard before sounds, but in a re hashed remixed way.... Fresh.

the good = Hallucination Generation!!!!!!!!!!!! / I know you're waiting / Higher Level and Synchronised

The bad = fear the drill / the recent dave joy remix and drugface in my opinion (although fat as **** is class)

The future = hopefully more tunes like the good!! releases that have loads of manic noises or are so simple they defy belief and make you smile.

Simplistic view I know but...!

1) I loved the early stuff especially the drugface EP (how ****ed up was that tune  ), back then they were setting new standards in hard trance.

2) Nothing to be honest, ok some of the cheesy stufff on some of the UK labels that were blatently trying to cash in the guys production skills and popularity at the time. And why oh why did they sign to Tidy Trax?!?!

3) I like the way the Uberdruck label's going at the moment although I can understand why some people don't, there used to the hard hitting sounds of Uberdruck and there getting uplifting melodies and piano's!!! As long as this isn't the only way the labels going then this is good stuff. It would be really interesting to hear some techno, I would pay good money to see that guys production skills go towards some dark driving techno and maybe a colaboration with Anreas Kramer, oh my god, I need a tissue.

they got to be mad again and come up with the crazy stuff they used to,move with the times and dont get stuck in a rutt wherre all there stuff is the same.I haver been a huge fan of theres ever since the original drugface, which at that time was so fresh and different.

i would like to see Uberdruck go in a much more uplifting direction. take 'distorted soul' for example. maximum euphoria, zero cheese. i was so impressed with this tune!!!
acid aswell, i would like to see Uberdruck to continue to produce acid trance aswell. that 'circle of darkness' , of all the Uberdruck tunes that's the one that i cained the most!
as for the whole 'time stretched vocal' thing. i think it was very important in the first few Uberdruck releases as it help to define the sound of the label! i do now feel it is time for Uberdruck to move on from that!
another stupid thing i think is that some of the Uberdruck/ crow remixes for other labels have actually been stronger than the releses on their own label!

1) From the time of the early Uberdruck productions, I was a massive fan. Drugface was a very good tune for it offered such a wierd bass line that I'd not heard anything like before and a extremely twisted way of delivering it that appealed. Chainsaw was again a great production which captured a dark approach to trance and a powerful acid line for the breaks which just totally forced you in to a frenzy on the dance floor. Aside from these two great tracks there was also "Now or Never" which for me contributed upon first hearing it of one of the best feelings I've ever had on the dance floor. I was blown away with huge dark atmospheric sound that flooded the whole room and level'd everything off. Class feeling/reaction to a well conceived tune. Uberdruck really set the foundations for the name to look for if you want dark/twisted thinking trance style production.

Uberdruck have also been probably the most consistient label for every release being brilliant idea and production.

Uberdruck for me are also good at uplifting trance and their mix of Re-Actor - Radiostar showed this.

2) The only dissappointment from Uberdruck was that I felt a lot of early mixes had far too similar bass synths, sounds and layout/desgin which had already been used in earlier releases - it wasn't until Acid Fighter/Bloody Slut that the sound they use was put to better use. Some tracks like The Speed and Fat As **** which were great tracks on their own, but used to similar idea's for layout.

3) Uberdruck should keep producing dark trance with experimenting on new approachs to the delivering their sound and layout. I honestly think Uberdruck are at there best when using hard acid lines or deep atmospheric dark synth. So I hope that Uberdruck produce more tunes like Now Or Never and Sychronised alongside the more the acidy productions.

For me, they have to keep it dark and tech-influenced with a different formula. I agree about tracks sounding 'samey' and 'predictable.' so maybe they could work on this. Although Uberdruck create quality uplifting trance i dont think this is the way forward for them. A track which had a huge impact on me, was one of the earliers productions, "Turntable Junkie"
The sheer Darkness of the tune did it for me. The Bassline, the kicks, the atmosphere, the vocal and most importantly the Dark Synth used made it a tune i will never forget. This was the first Uberdruck tune i heard and ever since they have been my Fav' Artists.
So, on the whole, i feel they sould def play around with some different formula's, this will refresh their sound, which i feel is needed, but also keep it dark and Acidic - Turntable Junkie Style!!

I also agree with Sean Demaine about the 2 remixes on the flip. I would prefer it to be 1 stormer rather than 2 ok one's!

The good - There has been a lot of debates about uberdruck on this forum and i think that shows how much of a big part theve played in the hard trance scene. I think there style was very unique in the past and defonetly changed the way people thought of hard trance.
The noises and style of there tracks used mess with your head eg now or never, i never heard anything like this when i first heard it.

The bad - They have seemed to create there own style and it came to a point were you could not predict or expect but feel how the track was goin to be. This is not a bad thing but there needs to be a little difference to keep you on the edge.

The future - These boys have shown they are capable of producing music that will shock an audience an turn people crazy. This is what they need and probably will do.

I also agree with Sean Demaine about the 2 remixes on the flip. I would prefer it to be 1 stormer rather than 2 ok one's!

 what I meant was the "sound" quality not the actual tune itself , some of the remix's have been wicked :)

The good: Well one of the reasons i like uberdrunk, is that these guys are from germany, its been a while since we had a solid repetitive production from the swazi land. I can tell the difference a mile off in a set, when a uberdrunk fatty gets dropped in, it sounds so much more fresh that alot of the italian stuff up to date... They are a pioneering sound and have been for a while now... Tracks like Bloody Slut, Karma, (Druck Rmx), now or never, turntable junky, sirens of time!! can totally change a set, this is what i like about them.. Italian Hardtrance/style, on occasion just does'nt seem to have the filthyness to it... This is were uberdruck, always seem to rule the roost..

The bad, as for any producer, things can become a little predictable with there releases.. But within the last year or so, the rate of releases from uberdruck have been astounding, each one if them slightly the same but none the less a quality release... it must be hard to pioneer a new sound so quickly... which puts me onto the future :D

i think maybe dirk and Co. might need to take some time out and develop a new sound for them, but try and incorporate what they have used from previous releases.. Its just too good to lose!!

If i was them i'd take six months or so out, go back to the drawing board, and re-invent the sound that they already have on a different scale..
