Can some one please help me, I have ran out of space on my MAXTOR 6Y060L0 60GB 7200RPM ata133 ide. I Basicaly need another hard drive (about 100 Gig) to run with this. But how do I do this? :?:

The maxtor I am running now is currently wired as master to one of my C.D-R'sroms via uiltra ATI wide cable into IDE 1 (err I think). IDE 2 Has another CD-R on a wider cable ( I guess thats yer typical IDE cable).

I have no idea where/ to wire a new one. I wanna get a fast as **** 100,000,000 RPM one and I guesss I can only wire it to IDE 2 which means I cant get a H.D with ATI connection on it?!?!!?

Then again why not get new one and wire it on IDE 1 as the master and place the 60 gig as slave then place the C.D-Rs on IDE 2. I am not bothered it doesnt let me burn CD's 'on the fly' after doing this as the main priorty is to do solid Hard disk recordings.

Basically I dont a ****in clue what to do, Can anyone help? oh pleeeaaasseeee plllleeeeeaaaaasseeee pretty pleeeeaaasee

Plug the harddrive you have now into ide one and set it to master, then plug your new hdd into the same cable and set it to slave. Then plug both your cd drives into ide 2 and do the same i think.

Ya...you sould always have HD's and CD on different IDE channels. The CD can potentially slow the HD data rate because they are generally ata33 technology. IDE 1 (HD1-Master, HD2-Slave), IDE2 (CD1-Master, CD2-Slave)
