What producers do you see as doing something fresh in hard trance, please don't say Jay Walker because although he's talented he's got the Scot Project syndrome. I'm talking about producers taking the sound forward without going into hardstyle. These are the ones to watch if we want hard trance to survive the Hardstyle revolution.

Not just being biased because they are my mates, but I really do think some of the stuff being produced by Log:one & BenEye is class! DJ Abyss and Chris Hare have always impressed with their tunes as well. Maybe its time for the smaller DJ's to start producing and bringing in something new, their own sound. The hard trance scene does need a fu*king good kick up the poo chute...

You are right about jay walker as a producer though addict, very formulated, each tracks are laid out exactly the same *Yawn*....

I have'nt really been on the ball with for a while, but if i give an opinion, i would probably have to suggest a someone that produces along the same sort of lines as Kramer/Progodl.. you just can't beat some of the releases from Junk project and his other alias's.. On that though i would love to see a return of the older overdose sound, The Darkness, Drugs. :D

I really feel that darknes has been lost in hard trance aside from Kraemer of course (super bitch need I say more), most stuff that is dark and evil is labeled as Hardstyle.
Now I'm starting to lose track of just what exactly hardstyle is, and more and more of it is starting to sound like the good ol days of evil hard trance, where as hard trance seems to mostly uplifting nowadays.

You could almost say that the sound hasn't changed at all just the labelling of the sound, I don't know, maybe, Hmmmmmmmm.

Or maybe I'm just completely out of touch.

yes a lot of the harder hartrance gets labeled as HARDSTYLE dont know why :? HARDSTYLE has a destinctive sound to it 8) 8) much more ruffer :twisted: :twisted: imo hardtrance is much weaker and HARDSTYLE is more agressive :twisted: :twisted: 8)

i love my techno mate. all forms. IMO, the way i see hardstyle (and this is no diss to it at all) is that some of it is slowed down hardcore techno. don't you think? do you like DJ's such as Scorpio & Producer or anything? Im going to make this a new thread in the hardstyle section i think...

Hard Trance always Uplifting?? I know and own loads of Non-Uplifting Hard Trance! Just to name a few look at S. Puppen and A*S*Y*S etc etc

Bingo! Nailed it right on there... All that's really changed about the sound is the production (bigger kicks, fatter basses etc). Arrangements, melodies, etc have not really changed all that much. This is why I think hardstyle is sort of a sub-genre of hard trance.

I think there is a lot of hardstyle that is quit different tho, an sounds like it has not come from any sort of hard trance.
A lot of it ive heard sounds more like hardcore + hardhouse..
I think you could associate hardstyle as a few different sub genres..

yes i agree but to play a full hour pure HARDSTYLE u need to select ur vinyl well dont buy the tunes if they are all the same veriety i recomend 8) 8) 8) i think HARDSTYLE has already been split into defferent styles the style which is similar to HARDtrance and the bangin style similar to HARDcore gaaba 8) u can pick up original HARDSTYLE track u know 8) 8) 8)
