To tesco maybe?

No seriously though, has anyone noticed lots of techy elements creeping into hard trance recently? Take Hennes & Cold - The Journey, what an awesome track that is, very very simple but very very effective, it also sits very comfortably between techno and hard trance. One of them tracks ya can use to drift between styles with. It seems like the old style hard trance like the Wags, Hennes & Colds, Scot Projects etc are sort of merging with techno sounds... even some uberdruck stuff is sounding quite techy nowadays. Theres some really interesting sounds comin out at the moment.... will it catch on, or is this just a little experimental phase that our hard trance producing friends are going through at the moment, either way its quite interesting. Whats everyone elses thoughts? Or is everyone thinkin what a load of old bollocks.... shut up you mindless blithering fool?

If i think a tune in hardtrance is shit then i wont buy it or dance to it at the clubs! I try to focus on the stuff i like and there is a fair bit at the moment (although some might disagree). For example, i think DJ Slideout is head for top producer spot along side Sam Punk and Uberdruck and theres alot of good stuff coming out on Straight On records too!

To be honest i dont know how the sound of hardtrance is going to progress, but im looking forward to whatever comes our way, so lets pray we get some bangin' shit!

I dont think it needs 2 take a new direction, there a lots of new quality producers comin thru at the minute.. There are still plenty of difrent styles 2 choose from and enjoy, Uberdruck, Jon the Baptist, Vandall, Alphazone, Scot Project, Kamui-Virus Inc.. lots of quality there.. I think if the sound dont change TOO much we will be OK. 2 much change is bad, but everything needs 2 progress I know. Im not in 2 the new techy stuff from Scot Project etc.. and I do really really miss DuMonde's older stuff, Flutl;icht and SHOKK, Krammer and the old Scot Project stuff, but we cant go abck that really. I dont think that sound had it's day tho to be honest and wa sover 2 quickly.

I agree that there is alot of varied stuff to choose from in the scene but to answer the question of 'where is it going' I would say alot of it lately is about the Kick n Bass. It seems to be a method of i can produce a harder and distorted kick and bass than you. This is not my preference but imo alot of tunes are sounding like this lately. some verging on the gabba sound. I'm really liking the Kamui sound of late, who have their own unique sound which is hard but the classier and more genuine production.

innit! I think this stuff is proper hard and very well produced and at the same time rocks every floor i play to! this is where hard trance needs to be, bringing in new elements but staying on the same level!
