pardon the profanity, but holy **** this thing is a monster!!! 2.0ghz of raw dual core power, with a bump of 1gb ram coming this weekend. Overall I'm glad that I went with this instead of machinedrum, as it will be an invaluable tool for the coming generation of software and whatnot.
As far as heat and whining are concerned, this thing does get quite warm, but nothing like what the apple fanboys are complaining about. Its a ****ing dual core chip, not a piece of dry ice. The hard drive has made ONE sound in the 12 hours i've owned it, and it didnt last for more than 2 seconds. Short whine, but wasnt that of any piece of dying machinery.
overall, I recommend this piece to EVERYONE, windows and mac users alike.
