Thursday June 8th at Traffic

Will Fabritius [Test]
Mike McCoy - Live-ish [Electronic Ireland]
Giles Armstrong [electricity]

Admission : e7 / e5 members

Thanks to everyone who came along to Electric Shock 3 last Saturday. It was
a rocking night with both of our guests describing the atmosphere 'as back
in the day'. This Thursday sees two of Ireland best newcomers pop their EC
Cherry. First up is Mike McCoy, the founder of
http://electronicireland.com/. His live set is now a regular occurrence at
Viva and Final Fridays in Limerick, and over the past few weeks he has
played the width and breath of the country, at Electric Circus [Waterford],
Diston [Belfast], The Hub & Project Arts [Dublin] and Kerrynini [Tralee]. In
the past he has played at the legendary Theatre Royal, The Gallery and a
string of bars and clubs in Limerick. His sets can be compared to British
Murder Boys / Speedy J's method of playing, not quite djing and not quite
live but the grey area in between i.e taking loops and segments of tracks,
applying fx, layering and rejoining to form new tracks and new arrangements
mixed up with his own productions and loops, fusing all forms of techno and
house. You can hear a recent short set here -
www.electronicireland.com/radio/Mike_McCoy_live_de9_set_May_2006.mp3 This
set at EC is his last Irish date before he heads off to play gigs in Malmo,
Warsaw, Bratislava, Prague, Barcelona and Graz over the summer months and we
wish him the best of luck on his techno adventures.

Following on from Mike we have an eagerly anticipated DJ set from Will
Fabritius. Fresh from playing at last weekends Garden Party, Will is a
wicked DJ with skills to burn. Recently he won the highly successful DCU DJ
competition with ease. He has also been a regular fixture at the Test night
where his sets of tougher Detroit edged techno have always kept the floor
hopping. A frequent punter at the club, we're well pleased to have him down
to put his mark on the EC turntables. EC Resident Giles Armstrong will be
opening up the night with some minimal grooves that contain more clicks than
a camera shop.
