just something a m8 and myself have been workin on. little deeper than usual. synth is from an old tune that never went anywhere. the whole tune started out more as an excercise to understand the differant forms of compression better and kinda evolved into a full tune.

all comments appreciated as an awful lot of work went into this one and its possibly the production that im happiest with.

amazing track, one comment though is that you lose your kick behind the bassline. some eq adjustments have to be made to make room for both.

Nice. I agree about the kick.
When the big Mr Sliff bassline comes in, the kick gets a little buried.
I`d say the top end is a little too much as well, the rides dominate the track when they come in.
I`d say maybe you could give more space to the mid range, just so the mids have more prominence in terms of the range they take up.
Those big sawtooth basslines are a mix nightmare. They take up so much room in the mix. I tend to cut a huge chunk out of the middle of them so they are just high bass, low bass, and a bit of top.

anyway, nice. Reminds me a lot of The Mr Sliff release on Platform, which is a good thing.

cheers ste..only problem is theres already another bassline running underneath the saw.. i've already cut it from 150.. maybe i'll try move it up to 3/400?

yeah, you do have to combine them with something meatier for the bottom.
you could maybe cut from 200 and it should still have plenty of grit.
get a nice eq over it and just pull out sections with a reasonably tight Q factor, where percussion peaks are.
