Ok i know it's early days and all but what or who has really hit you so far this year in techno? any highlight record wise or producers that have stood out?

Can't think of *loads* myself, however there's been tonnes of good records to have kept me satisfied...

To throw around a few names and labels etc...

Patrik Skoog
Diego
DJ Nephets
Livewire
Emergence
The last few Kne'deeps
LFO "Freak"
Chris McCormack "Erase Techno"
British Murder Boys "Learn your lesson"
House of Fix featuring Circa on Tresor

Sure there's more, but these are some that spring to mind quick enough...

Oh yeah, and virtually any broken/double beat stuff I've heard from PVC/Sheep/Integrale etc. stable

c.m."erase techno"...the guys at my fav record shop
puked at that record...but it created chaos in clubs...
cbx9...pure and true...

2003...hyperproduction is killing techno...
it is crying, calling for our help...

Well, mainly for the live acts i have seen over the last 3 months. They have all been amazin. To name a few rush and berkovi 2 bad men, Dave clarke live, Adult, Brittish murder boys. Havent been buying much vinyl this year, and have been unable to listen to much on the net due to shit soundcard/computer, but i agree with mccormack erase techno, and bmb2 learn your lesson. Also enjoyed, Surgeon dj sets, atomic jams and tfunkshun as nights. Havent enjoyed, travelling with virgin rail, hang overs.

Sanctioned a dead letter pure

flinch the cacooned meat

evaporated the fur

What a class avatar Paul

2003 for me will be remembered for the weekend I spent in Belgium at I Love Techno Outdoor.

The group I was with, the extra strong beers, the weather, the tunes, the atmosphere. Everything just came together that weekend. Special.

... and DK8 - Murder Was The Bass.

... and Adam Beyer's closing set at GKGG. The setting and timing played a big part. Just being in that tent as the sun came up would have been good but Beyer's set made it fantastic.

This year has been tough on everybody. Many respected companies closing doors, and a major change of hands. That's what I will remember 2003 for.

It's still too early for the year-in-review threads but whether you like the artist or not, its obviously been Skoog's year, just as Danilo's was last year. This year I was able to keep my faith in techno as I've heard of a bunch of upcoming producers that show promise that things might be good just yet, in the future.

Zahn don't front like you aint part of the new regime!
I will remember this year for excellent releases across the board. But I do give credit to the Yankees who came correct this year too!

theweedjs ( bizarre mad stuff)

Glenn Wilson Heroes series ( esp the X remixes)
