Yee ha.

This is vintage Mills, very similar to the Sonar set he played.
Reminds me of when I first heard him - dirty, discordant and full of funk

Man can absolutely kill it on two decks - why bother with three? It just confuses and detracts from his performance. Much more suited to ragging the hell out of two decks rather than struggling on three....

Apparently Mills uses "lost" nights to be "experimental"
Very reassuring after so many noodly Lost performances to know that he can still kill a crow when he wants to.

Yeah man... those bastard crows...

Dont reckon much to the ravens either...

imagine bone on two. he would fall asleep after a few minutes.

Jay Pace
11-07-2006, 12:48 AM
Bone certiainly. Nothing against three decks, some people kill it and sound amazing.

But Mills has messed up pretty much every three deck session I've ever seen him play.
Prefer him on two. Suits his style more.

cant be perfect at everything every dj makes a slip here and there and wheres the challenge in only using two if your someone like mr mills who's been doing it for years and years and years and years , sometimes ya just get bored with the easy shit. I find that alot of people also expect the big names dj's like jeff mills to play on 3 decks + then again that might just be the detroit lovers for ya

Did anyone happen to be watching the coverage of this last night on bbc2? if so anyone know what the last tune 2manydj's played in the slam tent before it went to one of the bands? Got it stuck in my head & cant remember what its called.

Long shot i know.

three decking is the way forward 3 cdj,s a effects machine all the way baby two decks has been & past i think mixing should be creative three decks gives you that extra creativity plus with cdj,s you can loop effects etc i,ll never buy another record again i,ll buy it on mp3 cheaper easier to store & carry around

he was ace at global this weekend. Destoyed the 909 towards the end. 3 decks on the go then slams it straight into a 909 kick. Programs the hats in, then the rides, tweaking the pitch of the rides, then a nice tom pattern to compliment the kick. Sounded awesome on the system aswell
