Just so you know.

:cheese:

Now everything has a beautiful analogue creaminess to it, and the filters and overdrive are a tactile joy to play with.

Go and buy one.

yeah deffinalty my favourite piece of gear now (though ive not had mine that long).... its pretty mental though! I cant even get a 'normal' low pass filtered sound out of it.... just audio chaos!

I quite like using it sparingly..

Temptation to mangle the arse off everything is quite high, but if you're restrained you can get beautiful sounds out of the little beast.

ive only tried mangling so far :) like you say the temptation is too great!

do you use it as an effect through your aux send/returns?

i like the idea of being able to use it that way in a live situation...

I just use it like an insert.. the machine has a dry /wet control anyway.... but (obviously) theres nothing stopping you using it on an Aux if you wanted to....

BTW Im not sure if id want to use it live, its a bit mental / unpredictable for that for me... the way all the differant controls interact with each other is very presise... slight movements can give very differant sounds...

I dunno you might like it live for that exact reason... just for me id kinda like to know what its going to do!

Its not that crazy once you get used to it.

Although you would have to tweak it if playing live, because its capable of producing 1hz frequencies which would destroy any PA immediately.

I've taken mine out to gigs..it's a rude piece for sure. Frostwave Analog sequencer feeding into the CV input for "on the fly" pattern creation/changes to the filter frequency. Don't forget that it also doubles as a "sexy as dirt" distortion box when you overdrive the input.

nice one guys! destroying pa's haha! is really that easy to slip into 1hz?

yeh i adore mine too. i use the snare from tr909 to trigger the AR on it...run a drum/synth/303 loop through it and trigger it with the snare hits, and use the release to control how long the loop lasts - awesome fun

as they say on the website, it's not so much just a filter but a small modular synth...but yeh it is hard to just get a simple low-pass sweep sometimes. need to get myself a mutator aswell i think

so want one! used one once and it got me hooked, turned the most mundane trancey sound into pure analogue lovelyness.
