Future Funk relaunch @ D.Q. Bar
Funked-up Acid Breakz Techno Special
Due to Venue issues, we, the good people of the acid funk, are pleased to announce the re-launch of Future Funk at D.Q. Fitzwilliam St, Sheffield. And to open the procedings, check this out......
Producer, live act and remix artist Joseph Keevill’s (a.k.a Saytek) music is no new arrival to the world’s dance floors with a slew of 12”s under his belt on labels such as Intec, Console, Blue Black, Creative and Kingsize.
His productions have been championed by DJ's such as: Kevin Saunderson, Meat Katie, David Duriez, Terry Francis, Dylan Rhymes, Carl Cox, Phil Kieran, Peace Division and John Digweed to name but a few. His tracks have appeared on many compilations including Meat Katie’s “beyond the darkness” and “Amnesia underground” vol.2. Sayteks releases have reached the upper quarters of numerous charts around the world including a no.7 entry into the Spanish club chart.
Recently it is Sayteks live act that has been making waves. Saytek uses a laptop running Ableton live, a controller keyboard, a slick rhythm production sampler and a DJ mixer to weave together his unique blend of funk fuelled dance floor electronics. The crowd’s reaction and promoters contentment is such that the gigs keep on coming.
Saytek has already appeared on line ups alongside DJs such as DJ Quest, MR.C Pure Science, Surgeon, Aquasky, Masterblaster and Regis. The truly live nature of Sayteks performance has also meant that he has been booked along side cutting edge dance bands such as: Toob (Richard Thiars’ {Redsnapper} new band) and The Egg (square peg).Saytek has played live at a plethora of London/UK venues from s****y Shoreditch DJ bars to the main rooms of mass and the telegraph and everywhere in-between. For each event Saytek creates a new live set targeted at the music policy of the night, never failing to rock the party!
Saytek’s future is looking very bright: he has just completed a track for François K’s Wavetec imprint and his “Codes Of Conduct” E.P is scheduled for release in July on his Label Saytek Elektronik .His Live act is going international with bookings in Berlin. Saytek is surely a name we will be hearing more in 2005!
