Since exploding onto the techno scene in 1995 with the now-classic
"Surgeon EP," DJ/producer anthony child has been remolding
contemporary techno. His early releases on Downwards and Tresorcaused
a ripple of excitement among techno's elite players, resulting in
remix work for Dave Clarke and inclusion on Jeff Mills' seminal 'Live
at the Liquid Room' mix. Over the years surgeon has explored more
cerebral elements of production while maintaining an unusual harsh and
funky edge in his music. experiments with industrial and musique
concrè´¥ techniques can be heard on his darker collaborations with
Regis as British Murder Boys as well as remix work for classic
experimentalists Coil and Faust.
