Hi

Ok i made this track www.music.eurobell.co.uk/mattj_-_the_man.mp3

The File is 3.3 Mb, so it shouldnt take to long to download on 56K and very quick on ADSL

Please cud u take a listen and tell me what u think, the samples are from a track on an old Helter Skelter tape, i never found out what the track was called, if anyone could ID the track i would be very happy !

I used Acid Pro 2.0, Sound Forge and Tuareg FAT to make the track, i made it fairly quickly, i didnt think it was to bad considering the samples are from an old tape, maybe i could do a better remix if i had the original track.

If anyone wants to talk to me about music production then id be pleased to chat about it

Hi man.

That tracks quite well put together if it has been made from samples of a helter skelter tape!

I can tell at some points you have re-inforced the bass using a sample of mixing from the tape, I could be wrong but my ears are telling me this so I tend to believe them.

It would be interesting to see what you could do with some cool samples... I have had two people ask about this so I'm going to sort some sample CD's out soon.

Thanks Sinner and Hakka (so far) waiting to see wat Sinner thinks of it.

the main parts are from the old tape which i cleaned up abit first in sound forge the drums and snares and claps and all those bits are from other places, ive got a bad habit of starting to make a track then rushing for no reason to finish it, i know i could do alot better if i spent more time on it, ive got a good imagination and theres always tune ideas floating round in my head.

if u want to hear the high quality version of that track then email me and i'll send u it, its 4.3 Mb.

Does anyone know what track the samples are from cuz i havnt got a clue ???

What did u mean " re-inforced the bass using a sample of mixing from the tape" do u mean near the end ? if u mean the extra beat loop then i made that and added it in[/i]

Good work mate, I really enjoyed listening to the tune. Thats a very catchy sample you've got in there!!!!! I also liked it where: halfway through the tune on the build-up where there is just a snare and a kick drum roll, when you fade back in the little catchy sample with nothin underneath it and then BAM - It kicks!
Maybe the Kick could have been a bit Harder and also i think the sample is a little repeptitive, its a catchy sample but its also a bit cheesey. But, never the less, i really enjoyed it!!!!!

I can also see what Hakka means about the re-inforced bass, it does sound like a mix. When i first listened it i thought you had dropped in another tune. Its like 2 beats combinding.

Can i just ask you, have you only used a computer to create this tune?
Im going to be creating some hard trance shortly and whilst im only starting off i just wanna use a comp @ first. I've been told to use: Cubase, Fruity Loops, Rebirth and Acid Pro? Are these good to be starting on???

Thanx

Cheers m8, well those programs sound cool i only use my PC to make my tunes yea.

I spose when u post a tune u have to be prepared to listen to wat everyone has to say even if what there saying sounds good or bad to u, in the end it will all help u to improve in the future but keeping in mind that not everyone likes the same thing. thanks for the honest feedback tho im pretty sure it will help me in the future.

While the samples i used are quite old i dont really find the melody cheesy, but theres cheese and then theres CHEESE ! some of the new tunes comin out all sound the same ! as if they've been made by a bloody robot on a PC, sometimes i feel a certian bit of cheesyness can help make a track original tho, u may not feel the same as i do tho.

Does anyone know where to get some good synth kinda sweep sounds, long ones to use as a breakdown sound in the background like spacey sounds etc... ?
