I'm not voting purely because why the F.U.C.K. would I want to hear my music on Radio 1??

UNDERGROUND!

Bollocks to the BBC, they can't take everything we like and stamp 'COMMERCIAL' on it.....

Sorry thats just the way I feel....

Totally agreed! They can't take this away from us aswell! FFS Judge Jules will be playing our stuff if radio 1 start playing it, That wouldn't be right!

yeh in a way i agree but i cant really see bbc giving m-zone a saturday nite hard trance show or mark on the breakfeast show
ur more likely to get sum 1 from tidy id imagine guyver or lee haslam :nono: and their purely underground tunes to represent the scene just as they did with fergie to represent hard house a couple yrs ago. Cant really see that the bbc know their arse from their elbow wen it comes to underground music so i wudnt get to worried

im not a big radio listener, although i do tune into certain things from time to time, im not sure if this is a good or bad thing really, on one side hearing some more of the music i like on the radio would be good, but on the other like corbzy said, theres the risk of it being jumped on and pumeled. if there was a spot on radio 1 with some of the harder less mainstream music id welcome it, as long as they pulled it of right and get a good dj doing it that knows whats going on.

i have fond memories of stu allen on key 103, that was a great show, and john peel has a clever balance of all styles.

I feel the more exposure that the type of music we all listen to gets all the better. One word really. Survival.

Thats the reason why its a bad idea to play underground music on Radio 1, it wouldnt survive.

Hi there, i think there are good valid points here as this is the underground. My petition comes from turning on the radio and hearing UNDERGROUND dance tracks anyway, but the rave thing being left out in the cold. Fergie plays some techno on his show and it is well loop kind of based stuff (although my personal belief is that maybe he should mix a lot sooner, more like Ant's Dj style).

To cut my drivvel short it is to say look you have this covered extensivly (house), now you have done that, please represent the scenes that sell as much and have as many people going to the clubs. there is no other reason to not have it but personal choice for Radio 1.

However, the underground IS underground, so no radio play may be a good thing... on the other hand the radio puts out tracks which are boring to me (coming from the cheesy rave side of me) and i think so many hours of house are suffocating (that looks wrong) the overall dance scene which is cutting off the paths to getting deeper into it.. Like if I was 14 right now and i listened to really underground stuff i think i would prefer rap metal as at a younger age the reason for listening might be excitement rather than 'groove' or 'deep'. Thats why this petition is for over 140bpm stuff, you may not like it, it may not be credible or cool but it exists as much as house.

fair shout jon i think thats a really valid point i just think radio 1 will look straight to tidy or another "more commercial style" to represent thye whole scene
i do agree tho that if a true represention of hard trance/hardstyle even techno was shown on mainstream radio like radio 1 people may open their eyes to the scene abit more. i dont wont trance to become a cheese fest again but abit more support is allways welcome

No matter if the scene is represented right or not on the radio, with that type of exposure its gonna get jumped all over by the big boyz (need I name names) and abused to death.

I dont see why we would want it on radio 1, surely the reason we are all into this music is because we searched for something different and found it! if its gonna be on radio 1 we might aswell be spinning the latest Libery X dance remixes or whatever.
I'm just talking from a djing point of view there though.

Mr Peel has been playing underground music for years on R1....he is the only guy who could pull it off though.

Yeah I think I would do anything I could to stop underground being played on Radio one....If you want underground, you have to go underground to get it, sorry people but Commercial Music Co aka Radio 1 dosent distribute Underground...and I hope it stays that way...

so if radio 1 cant support underground what about d'n'b. the bbc have opened a whole sister station to radio 1 in 1 extra which is allmost totally a drum n bass station. It hasnt made drum n bass more comercial I aint saying i wanna hear hard trance techno or hardstyle every day on the radio but a guest mix from a real dj i.e mark eg,M-zone once in a while surely cudnt b a bad thing
