We are pleased to announce the return of Exotic @ Banus- Weymouth’s premier Hard Dance event.

After the truly spectacular birth of Exotic in December 2006 the best in Weymouth just got better with a return line-up that promises to be even stronger with exclusive international artists and the very best the UK has to offer.

We have taken onboard all the feedback from the first event and now bring you an unrivalled balance of DJ’s, acts and styles to ensure ultimate satisfaction.

After his unforgettable debut performance at Exotic, the one and only Mark EG offers another chance to witness his unrivalled energy and showmanship.

Exotic’s Live PA this time comes in the form of ‘Carbon Based’- a truly awesome 4 man act brought to you direct from Finland. Joining them on this exclusive trip to the UK is Finrg Records label boss DJ RX. Having rocked crowds across the globe, he now brings his unique presence and hard dance / hardcore fusion to the Exotic stage.

Internationally renowned local heroes Organ Donors will also be gracing the decks at Banus with full support from South West legends’ Iain Cross and Major Tom (Atmosphere).

Not just focusing on hard dance and hardcore, the godfather of UK banging techno, D.A.V.E. The Drummer will be making his Exotic debut in the Top Floor Arena. Fuelling the fire alongside him will be seasoned techno-heads BCR Boyz, Dave Brown, Robin H, Meri and guests.

True to Exotic’s innovative approach, The South West Basement will become the breeding ground for fresh talent who have been hand-picked from demo’s received at Exotic HQ. Styles will range from Hard House, Classics and Freeform Hardcore. Overseeing the proceedings and headlining will be Country Club legend Dave Scott.

With three rooms of banging beats, the Front Bar will be the ideal Chill-out arena featuring blissful, atmospheric sounds provided by Organix (Live), Dope Jon Paul, Jim Bong and guests.

Carbon Based is a hard dance and freeform act from Finland. They started out during the cold winter of 1996 and have been experimenting with different styles of electronica ever since. The group is one of the pioneers of unique Finnish freeform sound often referred to as FINRG. The group includes four members: Toni Eronen, Ari Virtanen, Petteri Kääpä and Teemu Lahtinen.

Carbon Based has released tracks on Max and Amino's Alien Trax, the Mexican's labels Electronic and Electrolysis and Scandinavia's first hard trance label FINRG Recordings, which is actually their own label co-owned by DJ RX. Through FINRG they promote the hi-octane manifesto of Finnish energy in forms of CD, digital and vinyl releases, and most successful FINRG tour parties all over Finland.

'Payback Time' on Alien Trax was their first release on 9/2001. More international attention was gained soon after when 'Illuminate' received the highest score on ever-popular www.generoproject.com. Carbon Based's most anticipated track so far, 'Cyclone', was released on 'Straight outta Finland' EP on Electronic in early 2004. It was voted the 8th best track of 2003 in www.bangingtunes.com public vote, even though it was not even released yet! It was also named as a “best tune of 2003” by Proteus in DJ Magazine. Currently Carbon Based has published or signed over 20 tracks on labels such as Electronics, Nu-Energy, Electrolysis, Electroplates, Finrg, Finrg Hard, Digital Beatz and Teflon Bullet.

Best known for their highly energetic appearances, Carbon Based leaves no one cold when it comes to Live PAs. They have performed in most of Finland's popular events like Säde, Koneisto, Movement, FINRG Tour and Rush. During the last few years Carbon Based has performed in more than 50 events. Their international debut took place in December 2003 in Elation Christmas Carnage, London. In July 2004 Carbon Based did an Australian mini-tour with appearances in Hard Kandy, Melbourne and on the main arena of the massive Winter Enchanted, Adelaide. In addition to the live PAs, DJ gigs are also done on a regular basis by Ari as E-nrg, Toni as Big Mistake and Teemu as Drumhead. Carbon Based has performed with well-known acts such as Proteus, Yoji Biomehanika, Kevin Energy, Paul Glazby, Scott Project, Teebee, Überdruck, Organ Donors, Danny D and Fausto just to mention few.

In 2004 and 2005 Carbon Based was voted 3rd in the artist/producer category of Finnish Club Awards. They hold a residency in Helsinki based high profile club Rush and will appear on first Finnish freeform CD release in the near future.

Ville Sorsa aka. DJ Rx has been spinning records from the late 90s. His music style varies from uplifting hard-trance from artists like Flutlich, Shokk and Scot Project to fierce NRG, freeform and hardcore music from artists such as Lab-4, Alek Száhala, Pain on Creation, Carbon Based, DOK, Ferox and Kevin Energy just to name a few. Within last few years he has made his way to all the biggest clubs in Finland such as Millennium, Säde, Rush. This summer he will perform for the second time in Koneisto, the biggest electronic music festival in the whole Scandinavia. He also holds a recidency at the 'Finrg on tour' parties.

His energetic stageshows, unique combination of mixing and scratching emphasized by furious NRG and freeform has gained him a respectable status in Finnish hard-dance scene and he now tours Finland on monthly basis. His mix-cd series 'Codex', which has now reached its 3rd part, has gained him quite a reputation throughout the global hard dance community.

Besides DJing Rx is also one of the driving forces behind the FINRG Recordings - the first, and for the time being, the only hard dance label in Scandinavia. He had his first release 'Reptile', co-produced with Carbon Based, signed to Electrolysis Records, but at the moment he is working on his solo project and strenghtening his production skills.

Riggsy is a DJ and MC based in the South West who is resident at 'Dreamzone' and 'Rebirth' (The Empire, Bournemouth). He has been selected because of his confident approach and style- he knows when to work the mic and more importantly, when to keep quiet and let the music do the talking.
He has also been working recently alongside Iain Cross and is a welcome addition to the Exotic line-up.
