Bleep43 returns to a revamped and refurbished Corsica Studios complete with Funktion 1 rig for our first party of 2007. As always, looking to blend an exciting mix of live acts and DJs in techno and electro, mixing burgeoning local talent with the more established, we are looking forward to a night of the very best the two genres can offer.

We are very excited to welcome back all the way from Dallas, Gerard Hanson aka Convextion, who wowed us all last year with a jaw-dropping live set for Bleep43 and followed it up with his long-awaited debut LP on the highly regarded Down Low label in November that set the techno community alight. Ever since his debut 12" on Matrix in 1995, Convextion has become a byword amongst techno cognescenti for the sort of deep, textured techno that draws parallels with Juan Atkins and Basic Channel. With releases due on Frustrated Funk, AW recordings and other labels, this is a busy time for Gerard. Refusing to play anything but new material, his live sets are always unique.

Alongside him on the UK leg of their European tour is JT Stewart aka $tinkworx who is making his London debut. Co-owner of Down Low, JT has built up an impressive back catalogue of releases on respected labels such as Bunker, Delsin, New Religion and Rush Hour, spanning such genres as electro, deep techno, Italodisco and House. His live set encompasses all the above and more.

Making his debut for us, Surgeon needs no introduction. A central figure in techno ever since his debut EP in 1995, Anthony Childs has forged a sound connected with Detroit and Chicago, but more importantly also draws upon the rich heritage of British experimental acts such as Eno, Coil, Whitehouse and Throbbing Gristle to give his records a gripping edge that is missing in much of techno today. Using Ableton to its true potential, his DJ sets are an incendiary experience not to be missed.

A regular behind the decks at Bleep43, Lawrence Clift aka agent2 has been DJing as part of the Rebel Intelligence collective for over a decade, drawing from his love of electro and deep techno a unique take on both genres.

After a number of releases on the respected minimal techno label Continual, Nick Wilson decided on a radical change of musical direction, drawing upon a range of diverse influences such as Meshuggah, Scott Walker, Coil and Arthur Russell to create experimental music under the monikers NCW and Beaks, whilst also being part of the mysterious Ruck Edits duo. Expect material soon. He DJs with Ableton, utilising the sequencing software to its full potential with all manner of unusual surprises, from disco to noise, thrown together.

On the back of his well-received split EP with Datassette and inclusion the on Ai records last year, Plant43 is building a reputation for cerebral electro that we hope will be augmented with a remix project for release soon. Co-founder of Bleep43, Emile Facey is also the artistic force behind the collective.

Orphan completes the list of live acts, making her 3rd appearance for Bleep43. Drawing from a wide range of influences such as Robert Hood and Drexciya, Bea Brennan continues to further her unique sound through live performance, blending software with her preference for old analogue hardware.

One of our favourite DJs, Max Duley is behind the decks again, this time playing an alternative selection of records in the bar. Max has released a number of records, not least on Steve Bicknell's Cosmic label, and his own, ARCart.
