Hey People,

Got a quick question for you, we're going to sell some old studio kit that we don't really use and we are not too sure how much to ask for before we post in the equipment classified section etc.

Can anyone give us some reliable advice as to how much these pieces of kit are worth ? :

1) Akai S5000 pro sampler, 64Mb memory, USB board, AKsys software

2) Yamaha RM1X - sequencer, good for live PA's etc.

Thanks loads

MM

i own the rm1x too, they were bout 600 when they first appereard, i got mine for 450 about a year and a half ago, i think it all depends on how much the person wants it, there not in production anymore i dont think, just remaining units around in warehouses etc.

id say a reasonable price for a good nick rm1x is between 300 and 500 ;)

I can't say I'd be a reliable source of pricing info for second hand kit, but I'd suggest taking a look on http://www.sospubs.co.uk and take a look at the reader's adverts others have put up to see what going rate is. That might help you out

I've been trying to sell an Akai 5000 with more memory (136meg) for £450 with no takers, so far I have advertised in sos (twice), here, on our own site, little detroit, squat juice etc....it seems the price of these has dropped dramatically, just take a look at how many there are on sos. I'm hoping that the price will go back up when people re-discover them. If you really want to shift yours i would go for the £300 to 350 mark, but I'm guessing this is quite a bit less than you paid for it? ouch
