On May 6th Bristol will be home to a trio of parties to celebrate Primate Recordings 100th release and what better way to mark this occasion than a Boat Party. Following on from the success of last years boat party with Brazilian Anderson Noise, this year TCP recordings and Vayge team up with arguably the UK’s longest standing and best techno label; Primate Recordings.

Primate has been churning out the world’s best techno records for ten years now. To celebrate ten years at the top and to commemorate their 100th release the label is releasing a 4 disk EP containing new productions from some of the artists that have previously featured on the label. Early this year Thomas Christopher and Steve Payne released their first EP on Primate Recordings and they have now become two names on a long list of producers and DJ’s that Primate has helped to develop.

The day will of kick at 7pm with a boat party to blow your mind. Minimal Techno from the Vayge duo Mike Bull and Gareth Watkins for starters then the Greek Techno Master and Omega Audio head honcho Axel Karakasis will be stepping up to spin his unforgettable techno style as the darkness closes in.

Next on to the world famous Blue Mountain Club, where you will have the choice of two rooms. The main room will follow the theme from the boat with techno will be the main focus. Ben Watkins from BS2, John Warwick the Primate Boss, Axel Karakasis and the TCP Recordings pairing of Thomas Christopher and Steve Payne will shape the night into an unforgettable techno assault.

Room 2 will be hosted by one a Bristol’s most closely followed club nights Dirty Blue will be helping you move your feet with the aid of their resident DJ’s; Olivia Zabell, Greg Shaw (Just Jack), Rob Worth (Zoo), Renny C (Chicago), Jay Russell (Empathy / Chicago), Dave Kirik (Drama) and Stuart Wilkinson. This will provide an alternative choice if techno isn’t your thing.

If you are still standing then we have also teamed up with Bristol’s new after party, Drama where Mike Bull and Gareth Watkins will be back on the turntables for another onslaught alongside the Drama residents.

Axel Karakasis showed an interest in electronic music in a very young age. In the late 80's it began with the techno sound. Around that same time he started DJ’ing at small clubs in Athens. In 1995 he became the resident DJ at Battery club and in 1996 he launched successful techno parties at the Piraeus Iguana club. That very same year, team "bubbles" was created, this led to the start successful events in some of the biggest clubs in Athens.

Over the years Axel has become the most wanted Greek techno DJ and has played at a large number of successful events at big clubs in Athens, Thessaloniki, Mykonos and all over Greece. He has also taken his unique blend of techno across Europe to countries like Belgium, Luxembourg, France and Switzerland.

In 2000 he met Marco Bailey and started to release on Pornographic Recordings, the label run by Bailey and Cristian Varela. Now he continues to release his music on respected labels like MB Elektronics, Primate, MB Selektions and Rhythm Convert. After many years of hard work in the studio he has started running his own label; Omega Audio Recordings. Omega is a joint venture with his partner in crime Spiros Kaloumenos, together they have released numerous quality tracks and have been commissioned to do remixes by many well known artists.
