i use to be into my hardstyle big time,i went off it a long while ago cause of the same sound etc but ive noticed noone ever posts in here now so is it almost dead here in uk?
nah.. i think it's sure that the hardstyle sound has changed. and I also know that the old bassline stuff worked WAY better in the UK than the latest "nu-hardstyle" Dutch choons that have been appearing lately..

i can only speak for me sen, but i loved hardhouse/hardstyle untill i heard "REAL TECHNO" since then all the hardstyle type genre just doest do it for me.
allways will hold the tidy weekender's close to my heart though.
everyone has to start somewhere :)

There are some quality tracks out there but people want originality rather than the same old sound. Vinyl sales have took a real beating just lately which is a real shame.

Dont like the whole gabba kick with lame melody thing at all, unless some thought has been put into creating a good riff which is sadly not very often!!
offbeat bassline and screeches have been cained and died.
good tracks do appear but are made obselete by the anount of crap.
its not dead, coz people still like it, but it is mostly shit.

It's not dead, but I find the sound is getting a lot more boring as the days go on compared to the old tracks you used to get when the name "Hardstyle" came around at first.

Indeed mate, even if they still used elements of the older style tracks along with the newer sound then I would be happy, but the scenes getting taken over with all the jump sounding tracks, which in my view lack any energy.
Also the whole originality thing has gone out the window, with producers just releasing under produced tracks omne after the other which seems like their rushing just to get their stuff out there, and basically just a slowed down version of mainstream Hardcore, with all the kicks etc, and people are definitely running out of ideas. :grr:

I know I hate pretty much any tune that uses the jump sounds / gabba kicks in the breakdowns, with the exception of a few. Technoboys 'GP4' or somethin like that comes to mind, really good riff.
Agree about the originality thing. So much mass produced crap made to a standard formula with no thought or creativity behind em whatsoever. The amount of shite I have to sift through just to find one good track takes the piss. I know this can be said about all genres but not to this extent.

god i have to search like crazy for the hardstyle that i play and it drives me bananas. anything that tipify's overplayed hardstyle makes me absolutely cringe. the screeching is ridiculous, i might as well play hard house. the sampled cheesy bootlegged bits get right up my ass (go to a ritzy and you'll get more originality) and the gabba kick, well that's just not playable here in the uk imho.
but even though it's a nightmare, in a funny type of way, the thing is, this is the joy of djing and searching for your music. there is good original hardstyle out there, but you just got to search for it. and i suppose that's what's going to set you as a dj out from the rest. ever since the beginning of music, there's always been crap out there. god, some of the absolute cheese that used to come out of germany with the hard trance thing was insane, but to a certain extent it was all filtered by the uk record shops and good distributors who knew the uk sound. now, we don't have that anymore, we as music buyers have instant access to the european shops, and to make it even worse record sales are so low that shops have to stock everything. it's become even harder for us! it's really crazy how the internet has made everything so accesable to the point it's making life harder.
hardstyle isnt dead, in fact it's one of the biggest selling genre's of dance music out there. it's just a uk punter on the floor and on an internet record site, is hearing unfiltered crap and can't be arsed to really sift through and find the good stuff.
i say stop moaning and get searching! :)

I would'nt say hardstyle is dead,as previously mentioned theres so much cheese out there at the moment you have to search for unknown artists and labels that every one else aint playin.I've personally hung up my hardstyle gloves and started purchasing hardcore, stuff from Holland,France,Italy.Loving this stuff at the minute.

Yeah good points made there fella. I aint into any hardstyle what so ever any more. A few years back when it first came out, i liked it because it was hard-edged and i bought quite a few tunes. Always remember - Future Sound Corp "Devils Ear" I use to like that tune and "Smashing Guys EP" This was the sort of stuff i liked because they had monster riffs in them. Nowadays it is a joke if you ask me, so cheesy and like Mark said Hard House influenced with the bouncy basslines etc.
I definitely miss the bass elements of it.
The effected kick all the way , kinda diverts the reason why I love Hardstyle -
FILTHY BASS.

im from north wales and 1 or 2 nights up hear play Hardstyle, allways goes down well near peek time, its not been a packed room when its played all night though but ye it still gets the crowd Evil Face Bopping lol
guess theres allways topics about is this n that dead,if it is dead which i dont think any music is really, its just the people who produce seem to just follow like sheep, hardstyle is gettn mass produced at the mo,but where getn sum top hardtrance injection aswell lately which is great.
i started the sceen back in 1997-98 and im still into it,its mad ooking back to how the music was and where it might go
if all the music was dead then i wouldnt be assd tbh but its great knowing that sum one out there is problly working on a Hardstyle track for example that just might grabb sumones attention n the production will go that way.
i use to h8 hardcore (raver Baby so on) but djs like scott browns tunes just grabbed my attention n now i coolect that stuff.
fuk what an esay lol sorry :P
just my opinion though
