Anyone able to direct me to a company that sell or specialise in second hand desks?

After a Mackie 32/8 or something simerlar to replace my Behringer that crackles like a bastard now and has 4 dead channels :o(

well if you are going to buy a second hand desk then make sure you check all the pots and sliders and so...on and so on and so ..on and ..so on , you will be there all night so get some kind of garauntee maybe .

yes please mackie32/8!

awesomes desks (obviously) but.. its a long term investment getting a mixer like that and its the centre of your studio, the most important part.

plus, they are similar to 1200's you only gotta buy them once!

why not save the extra and buy new?

This is why Im hoping to get in touch with a shop that do 2nd hand gear coz hopefully they will have serviced it and offer some kinda gaurentee

Have thought about it and may end up doing so, but seeing as they have the reputation of lasting forever I thought I might be able to save a few quid and geta second hand one.

If I get a 2nd hand one I might still be able to afford the Virus this summer...

Behringer MIDI controllers are pretty good.


I don't think they're that good. Its just really difficult to cock up a midi controller. Not exactly the most complicated pieces of kit.

The company that rips off other's designs and rebuilds them using cheapy shite.

to be fair to behringer, their midi controllers have never let me down... unlike the uc33, which only worked when it wanted to (and im not the only one thats had this problem - both my own one and davethedrummers decided to be moody at a perticularly loud gig we played)

.. throw a bit of smoke-machine or bass rumble into the equation and it shit itself.. whereas the behringers keep going and going.

I have the uc-33e myself and it has often played tricks on me. Thankfully not in a live situation, though, as i don't play out live. I imagine the behringer midi controllers to be good. I haven't heard anything bad about them yet.

Yeah not all the Behringher gear is crap, Ive also got an EP2500 Amp which was using to power a pair of Martin Audio WSXs for a while... alright it didn't quite have the thump of the labgruppen amps but certianly held its own and was upto the job.

Think where they go wrong is like amstrad used too.. cut corners where ever possible and Im sure if they had felt inlays on the faders to prevent the dust getting through, my desk would be as good as the day it was new.. But they didnt...

Fair point, but that born in mind you can get a pretty good quality Behringer MIDI controller with continuous rotaries (with visual feedback) for under £100.

Loads of people I know use them, and not one has complained of a failure - ever.

And even if they did - well, it's only £88 to get another one.

Got a Tascam DM24 in the end as a replacement, bit different to the original idea but does more than everything I need and sounds great..

But then compared to the behringer a couple of dogs farting in a dustbin sounds great...

i had a Behringer DX626 3 channel mixer and found it savage, really tough (what i need playing mainly scranz). good product. stay away from stanton, they are poo, im mean really poo.
