Broadcasting from the other side of the pond will be our new resident DJ Anthony Velarde, along with longtime resident Mr.Deosil. Both are no strangers to the show, and will continue to provide that NYC vibe you’ve come to expect from Gotham City Radio.

A New York City scene veteran known for his pumpin sets, Velarde's energy on the decks is fueled by the tribal rhythm in his blood. He was exposed to the New York club scene in 1986 and began promoting himself under WickedLiquid Productions in 1999. He has headlined across the New York City club circuit and has spun alongside Charles Feelgood, Armin Van Buuren, Steve Porter, Max Graham, Jason Jollins and George Acosta. His opening and closing sets for techno gurus, John Selway, Tim Xavier, Dylan Drazen, Agent Orange, The Advent and Brian Zentz, are proof that progressive, trance and house is not the sole definition of his unique flavor. He has been booked internationally and throughout New York, known especially for his technical and balanced skill in transitioning genres as well as his pure commitment to his work.
Velardes love for music can be further seen in his auspicious work to educate listeners about quality electronic dance music and working any dance floor into a frenzy. His aggressive style and seamless mixing have landed him multiple bookings across the continent and earned him the respect and reputation as one of New York’s hard hitting Progressive Tribal DJ/Producer. His residency in LA is considered home along with NYC. He has achieved his goal in adding vibrancy to the scene by continuously making his mark as the DJ to follow.
Science and art are fused through the use of Ableton Live in his sets to merge his diverse collection of genres, original tracks and remixes. He forms a sound completely recognizable as his own and overflows with ideas on-the-fly. His knowledge of new technology has added an entirely cohesive element to his performance. His record label, Virtuoso Recordings, will launch riding on the success of Velarde’s first signed release, Skyla, on Acute Records, with co-producer, Mark Alston. It is blowing up dance floors and is being played by the likes of Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo.

A technological mystic in his own right, Chicago born native of Warsaw - Poland, Martin Zawila (pronounced Zaveela) got his musical education in guitar starting at the age of 10. By the age of 17 with folk, blues and classical styles in his tool belt, his aspirations of being a rock guitarist led him down the path of industrial and new wave. Soon after, having discovered the world of techno, he started collecting electronic music in the early 90's.
He now resides and spins in New York City as Mr.Deosil after years of playing clubs and parties in Canada as V.M. Transki. His energetic beat-blending skills and creative mixing have also rocked dance floors in countries like Sweden, Poland and of course the USA. His NYC residencies included Gotham Grooves / Homegrown's Tech-Support and NewYork-Tokyo's Gamers Night Groove. Martin has also done numerous Radio show appearances both at CKCU 93.1 and CHUO 89.1 FM in Ottawa; and online at Orbitalgrooves.com and Gotham City Radio on Livesets.com. With two recording/sampling projects for both Austria's Electric Indigo and at FUSE-IN Detroit '05 for Livesets.com/Gotham City Radio behind his belt he is now elbow deep in production. He is currently working on many projects both independent and collaborative and looks forward to many more years of laying down eclectic blends of danceable rhythms for techno, minimal, house and electro fans everywhere.
The sounds he collects and plays nowadays, both innovative and full of robotic funk and brain teasing effects reflect his adopted musical philosophy: Only dead fish swim with the stream... The words he lives by? Technology should remain but an extension of our souls, lest we become just an extension of our own technology.

So tune in, sit back, sip some sangria, and enjoy the sounds from Gotham City……
