Cracking night last week with Matthew Dear rocking out Wax, a return as Audion will be on the cards in the not too distant future. Onwards this week with our friends from the south, Inner City, coming up to represent. Playing on the night will be Bon Jarry & Sean Galvin, two of the residents at one of the country's leading clubs. Regular appearances at the Fast Eddies club over the past year alongside longstanding Republic of Cork reputations has seen these two boys come to the fore and we're looking forward to hearing them play Electric City for the first time this Thursday. Warming up will be our very own man from the South East, Dan Power, with another set of unequalled smoky deepness.
Bon Jarry, or John Barry as his mother refers to him, has been playing around Cork since 1997. He hosted a weekly show on Radio Friendly for many years until its closure as well as holding slots on Sub and Tech FM. Before Bon Jarry found music with repetitive beats he was best known for his hip-hop DJ'ing holding residencies at club nights such as You at Sir Henrys and at the long running Hi-Fi in the Red Rooms.
Bon has played alongside such diverse acts as Salmonella Dub, DJ Godfather, Fat Freddys Drop, Leeroy from the Prodigy, Kerry Chandler, Q-bert, Rhazel, Just Roberston and DJ noize. Recently Bon has been hit in the face by a big wet slab of minimal techno and has decided to nurture the sound with his serato machine. As his DJ'ing skills resided in the realm on hip-hop for many years his sets contain an interesting take on the sound.

Still a relatively new face on the cork scene, Sean Galvin has been playing records now for about 6 years. Joining the UCC DJ Society and playing at their open decks nights was the first step towards playing records in Cork's pubs and clubs. His first break came when he landed a slot on Tech FM playing primarily deep house. A few months later he joined Sub FM to co-present the late night "Frequency In Motion" show with Brian Shelly. This show contained a wide range of music from deep house to techno. In 2006 he came second in the UCC Battle of the DJ's which paved the way for further gigs. In 2006 he played a number guest slots at nights like Lo-Cal, Livewire, Shmutzig and Viva. He also began a monthly residency at Inner City, which runs every Friday night in Fast Eddies, Cork. Since it began in October 2005 the night has gone from strength to strength showcasing local, national and international talent. With a blend of House, Electro, Minimal, Detroit Techno and Italo the night continues to have a dedicated and enthusiastic following. In early 2007 Sean also began co-hosting the monthly Electronic Ireland Radio Show with Jamie Behan of Bastardo Electrico. For the rest of 2007, expect to hear Sean playing his blend of House, Electro and Techno around the pubs and clubs of Cork and beyond.
