...I know this shouldn't really be in this section, but I fu*king love my old skool hardcore! 91 ~ 93 was the best time for breakbeat hardcore. Anyone else agree with that? What DJ's & producers were doing it for you 'back in the days'? Ratty (DJ) & Tango (producer) have to be my tops! Ah! The fond memorys...

Ha! Sod it, this is an old school section, and it should follow the old school ethos and celebrate all types of music from back then!
I love my old skool hardcore mate, probably more than anything else. Dj's wise it had to be Easygroove, Ratty, Slipmatt (people forget he used to play amazing sets!), Seduction...I tended to prefer the dj's on the banging tip rather than the jungle one.
Producers - too many to mention...Noise Factory simply for the amount of anthems they had...Jack Smooth and Kev Bird for their Basement tracks, which still sound fresh today, Manix/4 Hero, NRG, Desired State, Menace Makes 3 etc...but then what about all those one-off anthems like Sunnyside Up EP, X-Psych-Ting, Break Of Dawn, Right Guard etc etc.
Those were the days mate! Only downside was I was too young go out raving then

I like me 90/91 hardcore- After Dark- Cardiac, Incubus- Spirit, Holy Noise- the Noise etc... before it went breakbeaty, but I do like some breakbeat hardcore stuff & especially liked Slipmat & Seduction sets in 92.

I'm still trying to collect the Tango & Ratty series on vinyl at the moment. Its shocking how much old skool hardcore sells for isnt it? I still listen to all the classic tapes as well. Drove into work this morning listening to Ratty & Robbie Dee at Fantazia, Westpoint 92  Wicked tape! A couple of good websites for tapes & vinyl are:
www.tapesgalore.co.uk for all old skool tapes & videos.
www.warehousewax.co.uk run by VinylJunkie & Darkus.
Well worth checking out to bring back a few memorys. And check the links from these sites...

Well you can get it cheap, you just have to know where to look! :) I've only paid more than £15 twice, both times for rare as hell tunes. I rarely spend more than a tenner on a tune and I have a pretty healthy collection!
That Tango & Ratty series - do you know Tales From The Darkside and Double Visions have been repressed?

Ahhh what a tape :) The one with Lomas and Colin Dale on the flip? Baaaaad!

Yeah got their first release, excellent stuff. Try www.vinylconnection.com mate, they're reasonably priced and have quite a good catalogue.
Also get onto the back to the oldskool forum! (www.b2vos.co.uk)
