not having used cubase since i had an atari i've no idea how the thing works, we've got a laptop running it tho at the moment and we've got a disk supposedly full of VST plugins.

I've tried copying them into all kinds of different VST and VSTPlugin directories on the Mac and it ain't happening, only some of them appear, most don't ... any thoughts? The plug-in info window I can't really make do anything useful even though it's got those nice tick boxes...

cheers!

Hey bazz 2 get the vstis 2 work u really have 2 installed' em 2 the CUbase SX/ vst plgins folder... only if the pluggo is a really simple 1, will the copy/ paste method work ...

so if it is a really simple vst i just copy its simplevst.DLL into the cubase sx/vst plugins directory.. it should work almost immediatelly, ... at worst u'd need 2 reboot (it shouldn't b necessary though)....

Now the is also a shared vst plug folder sometimes (especially when u have something like nuendo/ wavelab installed) ... so some plug ins might end up there... that's why u have the folder pointer/ browser in the plug in information pannel (under devices)... so if that's the case just press Refresh (or search again or what ever it's called the damned button.. this should do er.... as its name shows ;) )....

After this all should work.... BUT some vst Is/ Plug ins u might need 2 re-installed...

NOW.. THIS might seem obvious BUT if u r installing VIRTUAL INSTRUMENTS and plan 2 use' em in cubase... make sure u install' em under cubase sx/ vst plug ins...

If u r installing a plug in/ efxs install'em 2 the shared plug in folder, generally steinberg/vst plug ins...

If u do this u won't have problems while openning wavelab and the bastar* trying 2 open virtual instruments, or even showing them on the efxs pages!
