Seeing as there are connections between Suf and Blackout quite alot really. Duncan has been asked to play by Inukshuk as he does so often. Always Billy has to complain about something.

Oh yeah and it's going to rock.

aaron's the man! he and chris practically do all the business side of the label theirselves. we're too busy to deal with it tbh these days so we get on with the music side and aaron especially takes care of organising the pressing etc for us. i thought it only fitting to ask him to be a part of this.

tbh i didn't want to ask too many ppl to help out this time cause i really want to do this again if we can later and it's mental asking everyone to do things for free all the time. glenn's a big influence on the label, he's released on it and i class him a part of my family (same as aaron). i also thought to have glenn as play for free is a massive achievement and is so special in itself that i'd draw the line. we're gonna have our three 'blackout' sets and i'm proud of that. i haven't been involved in promoting a party for about 10 years. the inukshuk crew need to make sure they have a good selection of their DJ's too. so i hope you're all happy.

get yourselves down and support us and the good causes that this night will benefit!!!

it's free but any donation to the homeless will be greatly received.

Nice one Mark
We're really proud that you have choosen Inukshuk to do you Blackout party with. I no what you mean about the asking favours for people to play for free you want to try 4 or 5 rooms every 8 weeks mate. Town has been battered with flyers they are on their way to all neighbouring towns too. I've been looking forward to this party for months now and its the week after next.
Don't worry about the Inukshuk representatives you have the best. starting the night chunky and funky then tearing the roof off the rest of the evening.
I'm setting up a record stall too which I hope will have records from all the main artists, is it best to get Blackout ones from Aaron with all theirs or are you able to bring with you Mark? Are you playing last slot Mark?

OK folks. I thought I wasn't going to make it down after all. My girlfriend's been in hospital for an operation, but she's healthy (ish) now and the bonus is she's still off work ;) so I don't need a babysitter.

I'm going to drive down via Glasgow to this so if anyone in the know could be so kind as to tell me what's the best way into Birmingham from the North to get to the Sanctuary I'd be ever so grateful

We should be arriving round about opening time, so unfortunately won't have time to sample any pre-club bars for a warm up, but I don't need to leave until about just before lunch-time on Saturday so any news on after parties is welcome.

Woohoo, I'm all excited now  :bash:

wow excellent

well the way i do it is via the m6... and take the a38 into brum ctr... then look out on your right... as soon as you see the esso garage on your right turn left.... get to the roundabout (there will be a fire station on your left) and turn left... then keep going through all the blody roadworks until you get to a roundabout... then i'm not sure unless i see it...

hehe

just ask from that point... you're very close (probably 1/4 mile away)

only joking stuart.

But that tunnel with no water/toilet was pretty darn funky. I reakon if you got a bit of electic down there and a bbq in the summer it would be a top venue!!!

Is everyone still recovering form this then. Me and my brother made the long trip south. Desperate to get there in plenty of time we ended up going Glasgow to Birmingham in 3 1/2 hours

Got a bit lost with the directions and eventually found the Sanctuary about 25 minutes after we got to Birmingham.

I'm still knackered after the long drive down and back up but for now all I'll say is all the dj's bar one impressed. Aaron, Duncan and Mark EG were quite simply awesome. Blinding techno from start to finish.

I'd like to think there was some kind of problem during the last set, coz that was some of the worst mixing I've heard since Joe Deacon's infamous Metro tapes. Tunes were good though.

A fairly friendly crowd, maybe not as outgoing as we're used to up here, but good none the less. And some excellent entertainment towards the end as the messy heads began to appear. Hehe.

One of the best nights I've been to for a long while, and musically miles ahead of anything I've been at in years.

Here's to future Blackout Audio parties, and may there be many

Thank f*ck that wasn't him dj'ing at the end. Who was it? Have they ever dj'd before? Was I the only person bothered by the fact that the mixing was atrocious?

That apart it really was a topper of a night.

Hehe. I was fuming at the time coz I thought it was Glenn Wilson who was pish at dj'ing

My brother's away to sea for a fortnight and probably still thinks Glenn's utter crap at mixing. ;)
