Finally got my hands on this Tresor CD / DVD release yesterday:

http://www.discogs.com/release/874558

Got to say, if I'm honest, I've not really paid much attention to the Burden brothers work before, but I absolutely love this album. :)

Was great to watch the DVD last night and see how much energy they put into their performance live, and check out their sounds.

There's a real old skool feel to all their tracks it would seem, and the tracks are really simple, but keep you locked in on a nice groove.

Pick of the tracks has to be Headrush, Rock My Dub and Wiretaps for me. Just listening to the CD again here at work now.

Can anyone recommend any more of their work to check out, maybe on 430 West or Tresor?

Cheers for the recommendation, I'll see if I can pick that up somewhere.

The only other Burden brothers CD I've got is this, mixed by Lawrence :

http://www.discogs.com/release/47151 (http://www.discogs.com/release/47151)

I really like it, the mixing isn't perfect but the track selection and progression are really good.
The versions of Blackwater played back to back work really well, but if I can remember correctly, the blend is a bit shady.

really  cool

was a really good set, know exactly what you mean with regards to the energy levels, they had the Voodoo crew in the palms of their hands...

Yep, just checked the DVD credits on the inlay card. Bits were recorded at Voodoo in Liverpool and other bits are from clubs all over the world. It would seem the DVD is edited so that each tracks at different clubs.

Right hand side, "Live Video Clips" and there's videos of parts of the DVD there as well as a cool DJ'ing video of one of the brother playing in a radio station studio.

The new album is really great. Headrush is ace! and Love and Hate.

As for old stuff... Daystar Rising on UR is a great record. I never get bored of Blackwater either... it's just perfect.

Off The Grid is such a banging album, absolutely love it. Saw them at the wharehouse project and didnt know what to think, but then saw them in a nice cosy little club in Turin, and damn, what a set, they are soooo good live. Those guys have got the skills, the funk, the bang, the showmanship, and whatever else as well.

Octave One are simply amazing, seen them many, many times at various places and had the pleasure of a few drinks with them one night after a gig, top blokes with a true passion for what they do

good to see you getting into some more deeper stuff too Si in a non-patronising way

Always been into the deeper stuff mate. I love all forms of techno, but have always been most vocal about acid techno on here. :)

Good musics good music.

Well I hate to say it, but I pretty much have. Everything that I love(d) about acid techno, the UK produced tracks especially, has gone.

I've only listened to the first 4 tracks whilst I was sorting dinner, but it's good so far.
Nice melodies and production.
Going to have a sit down and listen to the whole thing, so I'll let you know.

Yep, agree with Si there.
Nice laid back Detroit style Techno.
Nothing particularly innovative, but it's all solid stuff.
There's only one up tempo track, # 10.

It's worth getting if you've got some spare cash.
Probably a 7/10 for me.
