Blackoutaudio.co.uk is pleased to announce the first music production competition.

This competition is open to unreleased artists only.

Prizes on offer:


Release on BOA Vinyl - Details TBC
Release on Damaged Trax - Details TBC
Digital release on r3tox digital recordings - Details TBC
Voucher for educational videos from MacProVideo.com
2 pieces of music mastered by Blacklisted Mastering


Catagories will be:

Techno
House
Electro/Breakbeat

Genre police are NOT invited. Judges decisions will be final.

The competition will be judged by

Mark EG
The Divide
and 2 other judges TBC.

The competition will start in earnest in 2 weeks time. Until that time we are not accepting entries, this is just a heads up to give people time to prepare.

Entries will be accepted ANONYMOUSLY so there will be no name dropping.

The rules will be posted in the production competition along with full details of how and where to submit your music.

Just wanted to let people know this is a BOA joint affair, help from ALL quarters - it just goes to show that despite the occasional hiccup there is positive vibes and a spirit of co-operation in the techno scene. I'm sure there will be some cracking entries from all over the world.

The BOA Electronic Music Production Competition

Welcome,
You got this far so if you are reading this then rock on! You’re probably a contestant.

Firstly, how to enter, then the rules.

How to enter:

1. PM a link to your entry to either RDR or Loopdon, you may link to a server or a file hosting site.
2. Your entry music be in a minimum 256kbs Mp3 file. Lower bitrates will not be accepted. WAV/AIFF are fine too.
3. DO NOT write ID3 tags into the MP3, these will be removed in any case to ensure total anonymity.
4. Your music will be judged entirely on its merits.
5. If you wish to change your track before the due date to one which is better, no problem. However entries will be accepted only until 2 weeks before the end date.

NO GENRE IS BARRED FROM THIS COMPETITION.

1st 2nd and 3rd prizes include:

Dates

Final entry acceptance date: 14th Feb 2008
Competition closing date: 1st March 2008
Competition Winners announcement: 14th March 2008

Rules: ignore them at your peril

1. This competition is for UNRELEASED artists only.
2. All tracks are kept anonymous from the judges and will be assessed on merit.
3. Entrants are not permitted to contact the judges regarding their competition entry for any reason.
4. Communication regarding the entry will be routed through either RDR or Loopdon (production moderators on BOA).
5. Entries will NOT be accepted past the cutoff date unless under special circumstances and will be at the moderators
discretion. Moderators may be contacted via PM on BOA only. No other method is allowed.
6. Entrants MAY state that they have entered the competition via the related thread in the production section ONLY.
7. Entrants may not discuss their entry piece in public, but may declare they have entered.
8. The Judges decision is final. No exceptions will be made.
9. Copyright infringement is a BIG NO. Unless you have clearance to use the sample. THINK! if you win the com-
petition using a track which infringes copyright you may be disqualified.


As this prize involves releases on three record labels, the labels reserve the right to state the potential release date according to their respective release schedules. This document does not constitute a contractual agreement with the record labels mentioned in this document, nor does it constitute an agreement in law with the owners, moderators or judges in regards to this competition, all decisions are final, there is no appeal process. By entering this competition you automatically agree to the rules as stated here.

The deadline has now been extended to the 14th March with judging on the 1st April winners announced on the 14th April.
