Just to point out I started to go off hardstyle because I was easily persuaded by other opinions, but going back to the early hardstyle, the simple fact is is that its good hard dance music, I played a hard as hell set last night and nothing whips the crowd up like hard dance music,so i'm sticking with it. You'll see me back on the hardstyle forum again, sory for leaving people!!!

especially sorry to vorny!! I know you love it ! ;)

Exactly Paul! I've defintley overlooked it alot lately. Dont get me wrong if a good solid release comes out i will buy it but nothing has been worth buying. I dont want to be listening to Hoovers, cheesey Vocals, Bouncy Basslines and Rushed production!!

99% of the stuff being released at the moment is awful. I'm really struggling to find tracks to buy, I thought it might be just me but everyone seems to feel likewise.

If it wasnt for the Trance and tech ive been buying... i would ave no new records of late.

Trance is so strong at the mo, and techno imo never really see's the kinda dips other genres see!

You know how you said you didn't like the Dutch style too much, Si? Well what do you think of Chiren - Equalize It, this for me is spot on, exactly what i like in my hardstyle. If you're not too keen on it, could you explain why? Just trying to get a grasp on your tastes of late. And what do you think of Gizmo & Norman - Power 2 Da People, from Deepack and Prophet's sets from Qlimax? And what about Prophet's first track? That old-skool gabba one? I think that is awesome, but I think only someone like him can get away with breaking that kind of thing, being the pioneer he is.

ps. I listened to Excessive 7 against last night, the mixing sounded even better that i had previously realised. But that intro/first transition, i still cant work out which bit is the intro track and which sounds are from the 'second' track, cos the noises and bass sounds that begin the CD are still there when mixing out from 2>3..

I'm just listening to Chiren - Equalize It now, this was one that I listened to a couple times to decide whether to buy it or not because I quite like it. I guess it's the high pitched vocal that puts me off personally, and the main riff that comes in at the break. It's good, just not to my taste.

A lot of the dutch stuff uses the high pitched vocal too much for me, it puts me off quite a bit, because it's something I associate with happy hardcore or hard house. I really like the Pila - History track on the Qlubtempo EP, but the vocal ruins it for me. I couldn't play it because of it. Hardstyle Masterz - Beat Diz is something that is also ruined by the vocal (for me), even the dub bizarrely has a vocal in it!

My favourite track at the moment is Deepack V Luna - Kick This Mutha ****a, which has a high pitched vocal and it's dutch, so I guess you're gonna have quite a problem trying to figure out my taste at the moment!

I do really like The Prophet's first track, a lot of the stuff i've been playing lately is the gabba sounding kind of hardstyle, but the feeling I get about that stuff is mainly that not many people are really into it, it's sort of an aquired taste, and i'm a bit concerned that no-one else really likes it that much. I've never played any of that kind of stuff in a club for pretty much the same reason.

As for my CD, go to www.only-djs.com, enter overtek in the search box and get the audio window up on Tee & Pee - Provide. Listen tothe A1 mix, this is the first track. Now search for Hard Boostok, and open the audio window on Hard Boostok - The Beginning. Listen to the A1 mix again, to hear the second track on it's own ;)

I've listened to them both, but i must admit i prefer them each on their own! The staggered intro beats on Provide are kind of lost in then mix i think, it still sounds choppy and messy to me. Again the second track sounds great on its own - the deepening bass notes that it begins with sound really cool, at first i assumed they were part of track 1, and you'd used that track solely for those bass beats. They are sequenced and beat matched perfectly, but it just doesnt sound right to me. Sorry to still be talking about this, it's just i have an essay to write and im trying to find things to distract me!
