TOKEN RECORDS PARTY
with
INIGO KENNEDY [asymmetric, token - uk]
A long overdue return to Leeds for one of the world's premier dj/producers. Anyone who's seen or heard one Inigo's blistering 3 deck sets before will tell you he's not to be missed and we're looking forward to this as being one of the highlights of the year down at Rio's. Production wise he's on fire (as always), his latest Token release is the number 1 best seller of 2008 at www.ds2shop.co.uk (http://www.ds2shop.co.uk/) and is a big favourite of Jeff Mills, Oscar Mulero, Dave Clarke etc... If you've got an hour or 5 spare then check out his awesome website www.inigokennedy.com (http://www.inigokennedy.com/) for biographies, discographies, free music downloads, interviews, art, gigographies and so much more - It's an incredible site.

RADIAL - LIVE [audio assault, numb, token - holland] uk debut
Radial are Jeroen Liebregts and Laurens van der Starre who first teamed up back in 2006 and have been a major presence ever since with releases behind them on Planet Rhythm, Token, Numb, Audio Assault and of course the global anthem on PVC which was one of few "pure" techno releases to feature in Surgeon's year end top 10 last December. The first release of the duo, ‘Beton EP’, was signed by the infamous Slovakian label Numb Records and since then their music has been appearing regularly on mix compilations, play lists, and charts of many top DJ's like Adam Beyer, British Murder Boys, Oscar Mulero, Ben Sims, Rumenige, Loktibrada etc etc. Radial are well known for their energetic live shows and in their very first year of existence the gig schedule already included Awakenings, Subclub and Pohoda festival Slovakia to name a few. This year should be another highly productive year for the duo with their UK debut for us in Leeds, another appearance at Awakenings, numerous planned releases and the release of their debut album in October.

KR!Z [kozzmozz, token - belgium]
Kr!z is a legend in his home country of Belgium due mainly to his residency at national institution Kozzmozz ( www.kozzmozz.com (http://www.kozzmozz.com/) ) and regular guest slots at the world famous F.U.S.E club and I Love Techno festivals. In 2007 he started his own label (a brave move in the current climate) - the superb Token Records which has, so far, featured global best sellers from Inigo Kennedy, Radial, Phase, Sub Space, Dimitri Andreas and James Ruskin - One of the most talked about labels of 2007 and rightly so, Token looks set to bring us quality dancefloor techno well into the future, long after the current minimal trend (yawn) disappears up it's own backside for good...

The April night... :)

good choice.

some good news for those of you who were (rightly) complaining last month about the lack of a cloakroom at Rio's, you'll be pleased to hear we've finally sorted one out for all future events, starting this month.

this will be run by the club at a charge of £1.00 per item and can be found at the bottom of the stairs to the left on the way in.

sorry it took so long, inexcusable really. :ohdear:

there's a small room behind the stage that we might be using at the Mulero do but i'm not sure yet, dunno if it's worth it really. i'll ask people next week what they think and if they want it i'll sort it out.

I'm trying my best. Had this cold since Monday so hopefully should be okay by Saturday.

I'd be giving it a miss if it was tonight. My head wouldn't be able to take the pounding. :pissed:

This was a cracking night. Never seen inigo before but was very impressed. 3 decks and cdj's made to look piss easy. Was impressed by krz as well. Was thinking to myself i wouldnt like to be going on after that set by inigo but he smacked it. Lookin forward to the other line ups coming up as well.

you should've said hello!

glad you enjoyed it though, all the sets were great. Best i've ever heard from Inigo, he was on fire and Kris did very well to follow that set. i was worried for him but he was more than up to it and will be back for sure.

I missed Radial but it's all recorded for a change so i'll check it out later.

Had a top night at this, kennedy just blew me away !!. Had to be one of the best sets i've heard him play. I thought radial were pretty cool but after enjoying CV's set so much i thought they were just a bit flat but that's probably down to CV laying down a quality layered set :)
