Clubbed Up is back again this week with their second instalment of their world exclusive Atomic Jam shows. Last week you heard resident Ade Fenton take to the decks and unleash a ear splitting UK techno mix to epic proportions…this week is the turn of living legend and all round ace bloke.. Chris Finke!
Following the release of his debut solo EP on his own Flux imprint and with various international DJ residencies under his belt including Birmingham’s Atomic Jam, Chris Finke's joint Split radio show with Ben Sims has grown massively across the globe and the duo are set out to re-release the classic acid house Phuture cut ‘SLAM’ with updated remixes to follow up 2006’s A Guy Called Gerald ‘Blow Your House Down’ Bumper remix package. This released saw new avenues open up for Chris, with this hit being an anthem on the space terrace in Ibiza. His label gave him the opportunity to showcase all his own productions and of all the different styles that takes his fancy from the slower house grooves to the jackin techno…either way making good dancefloor friendly tunes.
In the ensuing years Chris has quickly established himself amongst the world’s techno and house fraternity, playing weekly around the UK and Europe, regularly performing at clubs including Fabric, The End, Tribal Sessions at Sankeys and in countries such as France, Spain, Holland, Germany, Belgium, Czech Republic, Croatia, Poland, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Thailand, Singapore, USA as well as two appearances at the DMC Championships. Taking cues from his musical grounding in electro and hip hop, his imaginative three deck hip-hop style adds depth and character to his fluid mixing technique, joining the dots from jackin house grooves through to funk fuelled techno, taking in acid house, electro and long forgotten gems along the way. This mix from Chris will be joined with a special interview as well to open up the later hour of the show.
Opening the show will be head honcho Danny Roberts who will be gracing the airwaves with a premier of his brand new mix, which like Chris, showcases the many different styles he loves to play from techno to minimal to tech house but keeping that fun party vibe throughout. Catch Danny on Friday night at Osmosis @ Rooties, Birmingham for an all out techno fest!
Even though Tom Belte is half way across the globe, he has still left us with a little treat and supplied us with some belters. They make you laugh, they may make you cry, they make you hurl – but this is what our cuddly music boffin is loving at the moment so tune in to catch his top three for the week!
