Juicy July shocker on the horizon with Surgeon & a live show from Donnacha Costello, it's like the classic Villa team of the early 90s with Ooh-Aaah, Ray Houghton, Steve Staunton all lining out in the claret and blue. Completely tangential Dublin/Birmingham link aside, this is a line-up to rock the floor and no mistake.

One of the most innovative and dynamic Djs around, Contemporary Surgeon sets have been notable for an experimentation with new DJ technologies, breaking out of the standard format of two record decks and a mixer to embrace cutting edge hardware and software solutions, blurring the line between a DJ set and a live performance. Almost a decade on from the initial impact of the thumping introduction of 'Magneze', Surgeon continues to use techno as a vehicle to carry his artistic message. Oblivious to current trends (although often helping to set them), his work continues to be deep and expressive but still carries through in a club environment. A perfect dynamic tension; balance and counterbalance; screw the roses.

And what can we say about Donnacha Costello at this stage? Well, he's from Skerries but forget about geography, Donnacha's live shows and DJ sets at Electric City and Shocks through the years have been hailed as some of the best we've ever had. His live show is hot in demand across Europe and the minimise label continues to focus on quality not quantity release - a deliberate attempt to carve out a long-term identity and place within the electronic music scene. Donnacha last played Electric Shock back in December with Speedy J and rocked the venue from top to bottom.

Super fresh and classic sounds, crisp production - Donnacha has his own sound and the Tivoli will be the ideal place for it to go off like a midsummer night's dream.
