Practice and time mate. If you post up some of your tracks in the production files section then you can get advice of other producers about what you can do to improve your work.

Poor quality samples maybe? Logic comes with top-quality plugins so its probably how you organize the drums and synths.

its hard to help you dude, tell you what. Try giving us a run down of how you go about writing a piece of music.. in steps perhaps, then we can be more specific.

also what equipment are you using? we can advise on that as well. how is your system set-up in the studio?

Pratice and patience mate.

Production is difficult, its an art and a science. No one quick fix, going to take you time and it doesn't matter what plugins or DAW you use - you need to understand the principles behind constructing a tight mix, and how to use the tools to do that (EQ, compression, reverb etc)

Keep it simple to start with, use good quality samples and the build up to more complex projects.

Also logic 8 makes cups of tea automatically and can wash your pots and worm the cat.
