hi guys, ive just been playin around with the sample rates on my emu 1820m
and when i change from 44 to 96 in ableton whilst playing with audio realism it sounds like there is less bass. is this right ?

A higher sample rate will reduce aliasing which I guess could affect a bass patch? Basically I'm guessing that you might lose some of the harmonic distortion associated with aliasing...Or something like that haha :confused:

ok cheers, so would u say im better off leaving my soundcard at 44 rather than 96, im a bit confused

losing bass is not what should be happening. You SHOULD be getting better definition if anything.

in all likelihood the plugin is NOT coded to handle 96k or is poorly made.

is this bass problem with just one plugin or your whole mix?

well im just messsing with audio realism 303 and at 44 it sounds bassy at 96 less bassy and at 192 (just to see what happens it goes really thin and it wont scream when distorted if that makes any sense.

its not causing me problems im just curious as to why the higher sample rate the less scream im gettiing.

there is a known bug with AR basslinePRO - not sure about the 303 version though.

other vsts sound ok so it must just be audio realism then

oh and another quick question when you are making music do you set your soundcard at 44 or 96
