I`m helping out a mate sort his bookings for his club night, which due to it`s size, has had no choice but to move into london venues now.
We are looking for someone who plays (DJ or Live Pa) the more banging, havin it side of techno, for top to middle roster billing.
But they also are looking for something a bit different, so are trying not too pool their bookings from the same list that every other party is using.
So no london acid crew, or anything sounding too similar to this (acid techno), as they have that covered, and don`t want a whole night of the same.
I`m all out of ideas as I`m really not too much into this side of music.

Any suggestions?

Oh, also, any kind of shcranz is right out the window from the get go.

Techmouse

& Paul Langley was cracking when he played for us last year.

Well they need to be a relative draw as well. So just having talent isn`t enough, I know plenty of people who are great but they will be booked in time as wild cards.
Langley just won`t fly with this crowd, they hate jacking/wonk

Seb Marx is a superb live PA.
Maybe get in touch with the KSS guys? Great guys and very talented. http://www.kssrecords.co.uk/

Jeff Amadeus?

Darc Marc?

Seb I`ve known for years (I used to master his records), nah, love him to bits, but not right for these guys, a bit too harsh.
Jeff is great but too hard, and too much schranz
Can`t remember what marxcs sound is, but I think it`s not uplifting enough for the bumpkin crowd.

They are looking at having it, but uplifting.

I'd say look at the KSS guys too, going by mixes and livesets I've heard.

Other than that, maybe Dirty Ast as a PA (he's on here somewhere) or DJ Producer?

None of these guys would fit as top or middle billing for a large event though

Well, we are`nt talking forest trance or anything.
Deifnitely techno, something full on but uplifting, on just the right side of cheesy, but not SUF crew as they already have that side of things covered, and don`t want just acid tech all night

Seriously, what about the tech-house or hard-house style? Would that fit in? I'm not up to speed with any artists as such, but someone else could be?

Hard house is not on.

mike humphries - IMO probably technically in the top 3 techno djs in uk and his sets just make you move.. we had him in ireland twice and i was lucky enough to play support on both occasions. the guy is class and a gentleman to boot.

Wrong end of the cheese spectrum.

Humphries is a great idea. For the following event maybe though.
