Cheers. Just bought a firewire card and then found out my ****ing dell laptop has a cunting pcimcia EXPRESS slot . Have to get another firewire card now. I dont want to have to use the poky little firewire connection on the DELL as the 01X is meant to be a little bit tempremental. Cant wait to start using it though. I picked mine up for 640 euros second hand... they go for 1300 euros new on thomann. It must be some mixer as it been for sale since 2002 as is still pretty high (7th i think) on the Thomann digital mixer sales rank.

What are Yamaha manuals like these days?
I remember thinking they'd be easier to follow if they had been written in japanese!

the o1x manual isnt too bad, its the auto connector software that gets most peoples mind melted.

Planky - Join www.o1xray.com, its a user forum for the beast with helpful people on there.

i love the desk - used it live as well... recalling an entire hardware setup in 0.25 seconds including FX, compressors and EQ.. motorised faders and infinite encoders too.. mackie remote protocol works well with ableton too...

Yes I have seen this in action at a mates house. Works amazing with reason too.

Im moving to Reaper though. Someone has just written a control script for the 01x & Reaper. Will take a while to get setup but im wetting myelf at the possibilities.

If i have to say one thing negative about the o1x its the internal routing... its a bloody pain in the arse. And the REC bus function isnt clear. it does something but i never figured out what... it certainly didnt seem to be recording...

Firewire was the shit, pipped at the post by USB though.
