Mark EG Mixes From Yesteryear...... Ahhhhhhh!!!!

Just been listening to a few Mark EG mixes from Helter Skelter tapes from 96 through till 99. What memories this brings back. Trance was a much more melodic affair back then, there was some really really good melodic trance music knocking about back then (Flutlicht - Mutterkorn anyone)...... REAL trance music I thought, the sort of stuff that you could dance to hours on end and not give a flying **** about anything else around you.

Everything must progress I suppose and although trance nowadays is a much more harder affair its still good but on a personal level not as good as years gone.

I know recently at Dance Academy in Plymouth M-Zone played an hour of classic trance from 93 onwards, really nice stuff I thought. I danced more to that than I did to the newer stuff.... Only a bit more mind.

Anyway, probably bored enough people with my essay, whats everyone elses thoughts, and whats the thoughts of the man himself?

Yea very true mate i agree ive just put my old Helter skelter and Dreamscape tapes onto CD and split them into tracks, mainly for listening to them in the car. They really dont make them like they used to anymore

There's a mix of Mark Eg at Helter Skelter on NYE 98 which my pal Acid Fighter 303 has lent me... at the end of the tape Mark Eg screams "that's it from me... cause I'M ****ED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" ahahaha...

Mark eg strings of life with sharky on the mic now dats a tape and the reason i like it so much is sharky drops in some class lyrics,dont get me rong the tunes are class to,am not a big fan of mcs but sharky is class opn this tape ;) :twisted:

Ive only got 1 quality mark eg tape from helter skelter, its 97 nye i think & wot a blinder it is ;) , i used to have more but most got nicked out of my car a few years back, bastards !! :evil:

**** i could listen to the old stuff all day!!! I only have a couple of old tapes left as they seem to have a curse on them!! ALWAYS GO MISSING !!! As much as i like the new hard trance i would rather buy classics!! Has anyone got the mark eg tape slammin vinyl 99 Bagleys?? He plays some AMMMMAAAZZZING tunes, and he does the best wind down ever at the end of the set!!!

i had the tape where shouts hes ****ed too one in teh white pack. for me mark eg was one of themain reasons from my transition from hardcore ionto the more trancey things, his sound was 100% spot only only problem i cud never find no tunes in the record shop like he spun, closest i cud get was on nu energy!

Mark EG played at Bionic in October and December and played classic hard trance sets at both. The final song he played in December was the hard trance mix of Ralph Fridge - Paradise what a tune!!! Everyone went mad I have never seen it like that in room 2 at bionic. Paul Glazby in the main arena was playing to about 200 people everyone else was in room 2!
