DEAF is back for the 7th year with over 50 events across Dublin city centre, in over 30 venues & only 4 days to squeeze it all in!

There are plenty of live music gigs from French 80's electronic shoegazer M83 in Vicar Street to Washington noise rock distortionists Trans AM in the Village. On a lighter note the Norwegian label Rune Grammofon showcase features Susanna & In The Country in Whelans. Other highlights include the truly legendary Nurse With Wound in Andrews Lane, Steinki at Sweettalk, White Noise performing their legendary album Electric Storm in the Sugar Club, Lakker live in JJ Smyths, while the Synth Eastwood boys take over Filmbase, the TBMC rehearsal rooms & Meeting House Square for a Fri evening full of live music and design.

Later in the night we've loads of great club nights to check out...Kennedys play host to Ultradyne live on Thursday, Regis live on Friday & Luke Vibert on Saturday. Andrews Lane sees Mad EP & Ebola on Thursday, Poets of Rhythm, Steinski & Daedelus on Friday & Clampdown on Saturday, while the newly renovated Twisted Pepper sees the Deadbeat collective take over on Friday. Also in Twisted Pepper on Saturday night D1, Bodytonic, Syntheastwood and The Stasis Collective come together to host a night of classic techno featuring Rob Hall [Skam, UK], DJ Skurge [UR, Detroit], Shawn Rudiman [US], Baiyon [D1, Japan] and the Syntheastwood Loop On Loop Off battle featuring representatives from D1, Deadbots, Physchonavigation, CDr and Hang Tough. The Solus Collective will also be screening a series of Lost Classic super-8 edits of Star Wars, Close Encounters, Logans Run and The Black Hole - this event is free if you email karen at karen@deafireland.com for the free guestlist which runs from 9pm to midnight.

Our flagship event for the weekend, the DEAF Closing Party joins up for the first time the three venues at the Village, Whelans & the Upstairs at Whelans for the party of the year with a full night of techno, dubstep and electronica over 7 hours (7.30sharp to 2.30am). The lineup features Model 500 [with Juan Atkins, Mad Mike & band], The Moritz Von Oswald Trio [with Moritz, Max Loderbauer & Vladislav Delay], Chequerboard, **** Buttons, Annie Hall, Americhord, Rollers/Sparkers, Point B, DJ Chef, Wobble DJs, and Decals new project Legion of Two..

There's also plenty of daytime stuff to check out, a full weekends programme of Gallery exhibitions in This Is Not A Shop on Benburb St, Sebastian Guinness Gallery in Temple Bar, Gallery of Photography, The Joy Gallery, The Joinery, & Pallas Contemporary Projects, a series of music films in the Denzille Cinema including "Sun Ra; A Joyful Noise". The Electronic Sensoria Band perform a one off special DEAF show featuring Japanese trumpeter Itaru Oki in the Joy Gallery on Saturday night (BYOB).

Theres also a full FREE day & evening of workshops, talks & film in the Digital Hub on Sat 25th with the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Future Audio Workshop & Create Digital Music, & the screening of Totally Wired followed by a Q+A.
