Almost as bad as Motivator, not quite, but almost...

Never heard much Fantasy Island/Pleasuredome stuff, and I thank God for that, or MC's like that would have put me off the scene BIG time. God they had some shockin MC's... Whizzkid, now there's another one. Shite the lot of 'em.

Natz is ****in awful tho...

The Technodrome had it sorted... Ribbzy, Squidgy, Ezy & Sharkey. Laffin.

havta agree lotta sets were completely ruined for me by mc's...never got to the diz/fantasyisland nites at all but it all seemd v mc orientated

motivator lol actually sounded ok on mark's outer limits trance set but other wise v poor...odyssey ruined many a set for me aswell i gotta say

ribbzy/ezy/shark/squidy b an nrg were the boys

tbh I didnt mind a bit of Odyssey every now and again... Ive got a few tapes that he's pretty damn decent on. Off the top of me head they are a few SV vs HH sets and esp the HH Battle Of Britain Mark EG vs Sharkey set.

If you ever listen to Fergus' Pleasuredome anthems set you will see how good odyssey is compared to Whizzkid who is on most of the tape - infact this is possibly one of the best sets tune wise that ive heard... unfortunately wrecked by his constant screamin and shout outs... and "to my crew, the peterborough crew yeaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh" - No mate... **** off!

The set is worth a wiggin though, its on here somewhere, if u wanna listen ill upload it for ye like.

Its been said many times before but the technodrome had it sorted, but there were other good mc's out there aswell. Marley was superb, but didnt really do the harder stuff, eternal was class aswell but only ever really seen/heard him at North. I think he was at Steam aswell but never went to a steam nite, even though it was only down the road. I liked Frosty aswell but he was pretty rare on tapes, and I dont think I ever seen him on a flyer.

Gotta disagree with the motivator set (mark eg) from outer limits... its just the singin, and the shite rhymes and well everything... just ****in awful. I had the pleasure of never seein him live, but it sounds like he could kill a room in seconds. Never heard him even in time with a rhyme

yeah frosty was gd too tbh...specially on m zones roadblock tour dreamscape set end of 98....was class on that infact

i agree wi the motivator m8 jus think he suited the easy trance on that particular night

even tho a lotta the time on the night itself ya don notice the mc that much cos ya partyin manys a gd tape has defo bn killed by mc-age

That was the M-zone set I was thinkin of... Got that on tape, never seen it upped on here though??? Dont suppose u got it as an mp3 that you can upload aswell?

And is it just my tape, or is that set recorded backwards, B-->A ???

Thing is when u are at the event, prob didnt sound as bad, but as they are as loud on the tape as the music and some louder its awful!!!

Wish they just didnt record the MCs on the original recording they made (dats or whatever)

I know it wasnt in the spirit of live recordings and copyright etc, but god dont u wish some djs just did some high-quality studio mixes so you could bang em up loud and not have to grimise (spelling!) every time the MC sounds like a twat!!!

Natz used to piss me off at the Pleasuredome, riggadig ragga muffin!!

JD walker & peter pan were good though. Worst MC award goes to MC storm and his awful gob scratchin.

lol rem summa them @ the gob scratchin...wtf was that all about...nrg actually used to do it ok (!) if such a thing can in any way b classified as ok!!!

im all for the live sets wi mr ribbz on them, he always always sounds class top mc in the country for our scene imo every other mc inc the ''technodrome/north'' mc's had their moments from time to time where they overdone it or sounded shit like

Ribbz was always good at Dreamscape/Helter Skelter technodrome.

Im not the greatest fan of the 'yorkshire mcs' but when i went to the uprisings the mcs did actaully compliment the music. The problem is when you take away the whistles, horns etc and listen to it at home you can actually here there ramblings more. As above jd walker and peta pan werent too bad tbh.

Im not really a fan of mc's in general now anyway. I used to love a good set with ribbz, ezy sharkey etc but now i find them a bit annoying especially when the mic was louder than the music!

+1

been wondering what this tune is for years. it was on an old m zone @ rezerection tape i had in my car that has recently melted (litterally) and it's pretty much the reason i registered here. i've just downloaded 10 m zone sets until i found this one with said tune in. someone's gotta know!
